Aղցela W. wrote: "Can I buy a gift card from to someone in another country US to UK"I think on Amazon, you can go to the UK site and buy a giftcard for someone in the UK. Not sure if Smashwords has giftcards.
This question may not belong here but I’ll try.Suddenly, about six months ago, when I go to collect a book on Amazon from email or even click a kindle link in FB, I have to sign in to Amazon all over again, even though I check-mark the box that says to keep me signed in. I’m not sure what setting changed. Any ideas?
I’ll keep checking around.
Thanks

Yes, they made that change last year at some point. Every time someone gifts you a book on Amazon, you have to log into your account, even if you're accepting from your laptop where you're always logged in. Amazon logic for you, I guess. It's annoying.
it is annoying they have also been getting a lot of scams also one of the associates told me it was a safety measure they put in place
Aղցela W. wrote: "it is annoying they have also been getting a lot of scams also one of the associates told me it was a safety measure they put in place"so many scams out there these days. That's even more annoying. Dishonest people.
It makes me nervous logging in through a link. I usually only log in if I've typed the web address myself. Hopefully, they don't come out with a scam that looks like a kindle book gift.
Kristy wrote: "It makes me nervous logging in through a link. I usually only log in if I've typed the web address myself. I’m new to the group this year, HI, EVERYONE, and Happy Holidays! I’m probably doing something wrong, but I sent a (very cool, I thought!) gift to my match, but I have no idea if they received it. I also haven’t received anything yet. Any ideas for me?Daphne

Was it an ebook? This is an ebook exchange :) I can nudge them to check their email also.

I don’t know if this is actually a technical question. More than once I’ve clicked a book to buy that has one price point visible on elfster, but when I get to Amazon it’s been $3 more. Is this a regular thing? Is there something I should be watching out for on my own wishlist as well! I’ve taken the approach that receiving 10 $2 books is more fun so when I actually get to checkout and it shows me the book I thought was $2 is now $5, I’m wondering if I made a mistake.

Is this a r..."Elfster logs the price at the time the book is added to the person's wishlist. Any price changes thereafter don't register. I have found books where Elfster reflected a higher price on the wishlist than it ended up costing on Amazon. Goes both ways.
Aղցela W. wrote: "Can I buy a gift card from to someone in another country US to UK"Only if you have an account on the Country Region you wish to send the Gift Card from.
I have an Amazon US account separate from my UK one specifically for sending Gift Cards to US based people :D

Sometimes it lists the print version rather than the ebook, it's a bit hit and miss as to which price point it pulls up unfortunately.
Just popping in to say that if anyone has a gift that they sent that is unclaimed and wants me to send a message on their behalf to nudge someone, please send me a message!
Is there a fast way to go through Amazon digital orders to see which gifts you have outstanding or do I have to manually sort through them and click on them individually?
Shandra wrote: "Is there a fast way to go through Amazon digital orders to see which gifts you have outstanding or do I have to manually sort through them and click on them individually?"if a kindle book is listed as "manage ebooks" only, then it's been claimed. If you have another button "return unredeemed books", then it hasn't been claimed. You can then click on manage to see who you sent it to (their email) or you can click to revoke it.
But yeah, you do have to scroll through all the digital content to find them. It won't let you sort, that I have found.
everybody, please look in Smashwords, click on 'account' and then on 'purchases'. You see your unredeemed books listed there. You can contact the giftee, or resend, or download your gift for yourself.I just found out Jairo didn't download his gift. I was his match last year. I can't find him on Goodreads because I suspect the search function does not work anymore.

I just happened to have it up on J from my elfing yesterday. https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/7...

Thanks for this tip!!
Thanks for this tip!!
@Hemmel M.This is so strange, I don't have "purchases" under my account 😐
Oh... I found it, before I clicked "Post"! You go into your account, then "Manage account" and then on the right side of the screen there is " View Purchase Record".
Thank you so much for your tip! I didn't realize this feature existed 🙂

Thank you, Sandra!
Is there a way to view the message I sent with an Amazon gift to someone else after I sent it? I recall being able to do that in the past, but I don't see anything in the email or order window this year.
Kristy, I don't believe so. I know I can find 'who' I sent an Amazon book to by clicking the manage ebooks button on the digital order page and then I can see the email it was sent to. But I don't know how to find the message on the gift email that was sent. Sorry!
It's also frustrating that the 'gifts' sort feature on the 'content library' doesn't work anymore. Did you notice that? I only have books from previous years on the gifts page. :/

And if it's still unclaimed after resending the gift email, you can message smashwords via email and request they send the link to you. (I don't believe you can send it to someone else though.)
I did that last month with a Cari Z. book that was never claimed and they did pass along the link to me but unfortunately, in the past year, the book was removed from Smashwords...so I couldn't download it. So, I might suggest giving it a few weeks or so after the exchange and then claim it if you wish to...or you might lose your chance.
