Firstly, angels are usually a trope I avoid in books so I'm not sure how this trilogy ends up on my bookshelf! Probably that time I thought I should try broaden my reading to outside of my comfort zone. And in a way, I didn't hate this book but I wasn't wow-ed by it either. I'm familiar with author's previous series which is a time travel one (that is a favourite trope of mine) so that could be another reason I'd thought to read this trilogy.

While it's a fairly easy & rather typical YA paranormal read, I think I'm just feeling a bit too old for this now. There were just too many instances where I wanted to roll my eyes and/or laugh, for example;

"How can you dismiss me as if I'm nothing after these last three months?"

The story is told from 2 perspective, Ebony & Jordan, and they're not the typical pairing you'd think of though a whiff of that remains. While they are both easily likeable, they both could be just as frustrating at times. And yet, that is the privilege of an omniscient reader. I just may drag myself through the next 2 books because I actually wanted to see their choices, "Free Will" and all...
