Help finding a book

Hi I am looking for a book I read 30 years ago, it was a diary about a British officer who bought a a sailing boat after the second world war and sailed from England down through France through thecanal due midi to the med and then to Capri, can anyone help me?

Not much to go on but doesn't sound like any of the sailing books I've read.
