Let's say you don't like the book you are reading!!! Do you abandon that book or continue out of curiosity?

I will try to finish it. I hate stopping in the middle of a book but if it is really bad then I stop and give up on it. I will try to read it again in the future though.

But I just could not read it, the first few pages already had me bored and yawning.
Then I remembered Papa's words, "No book is worth my time, I read 5 to 10 % then I'll stop and discard it."
So now I just don't try anymore if it's not worth it… time is precious!

In general, however, I am trying to get better at pinpointing a book that might be slowish and then grow on the reader as opposed to something that disappointingly isn't for me. There are so many books that I want to read, and although I am fortunate enough to be able to read a large assortment of books in a year, my eyes are much bigger than my plate.
I do mark the rare DNF book as read. I considered it for a while, but overall my lists are for me to keep track of my reading as well as for those who find themselves with similar preferences to give them a fair idea of what they may expect to encounter. If I did not accurately mark books that are so horribly disappointing that I cannot bring myself to finish it, then I am not being fair to those who came before me and helped me picked on a book that I wasn't sure was a read or a pass. I really appreciate those that help me pass when I am on the edge of should I? as I get to avoid the whole DNF game that goes on in my head as well as the weird occasional guilt for not liking a popular book. Plus I risk the potential of forgetting and picking up the book, again! Nope.

not enjoying.
