ok so basically when i was in first grade i used to repeatedly read this book and it was the first “scary book” i ever read. it had a duck or a goose guy in it. he was this polite little goose/duck guy who wore pajamas and a night cap when he slept. he moved into this house and every time he slept he heard little footsteps and things tapping at the window. at some point he has a seance with his little friends and it turns out a horse was haunting the house, it was either the ghost of a horse or the horse would sneak in and live there in the night or something like that but i need to find this book. it’s been killing me

i just remembered it seemed kind of and older book. all the drawings were in black and white and there were only pictures once every couple pages. they were all anthropomorphic animals (animal people) the cover was black and white and had a teal border i think
