I wonder if I've misunderstood the combine rule when it comes to collections of works by a given author. In this case, there are a number of poetry collections, but with different contents altogether. I started separating out the ones that were truly different editions and combining editions of the same collection, and they've now been recombined. Should, in fact, all poetry collections of a given author be combined even when the works collected within are different?

I'd stick librarian notes on if separating/combining keeps being undone. Those notes show when combining editions (if someone then ignores a librarian note, I'd flag the change).
