Jemina Feyarro (jemfey) | 44 comments When I was very young, maybe four or five I had what seemed to me at the time a longish chapter book version of Goldilocks and the three bears. I remember it was unusual as unlike most versions of that time it had a relatively happy ending. This was late 80's, very early 90's.

Goldilocks became a part of the family and spent a lot of time in the woods with her furry friends. It went quite a way beyond the traditional ending of the fairy tale with lots of other adventures that happened after and other characters such as other woodland creatures and Goldilocks's school friends. I also distinctly remember a picnic.

Whilst nowadays I much prefer my fairy tales to have their original grizzly endings, I would love to know what this version I once read was as I have had no luck searching for it. The cover was brightly coloured from the little I remember, with illustrations of the principal characters.
