Mockingjay
question
What is your oppinion about the epilogue of Mockingjay?
It has to be one of the biggest letdowns I've ever had the displeasure of reading. We begin the series with a fantastic, post-apocalyptic, North Korea-style America where kids fight to the death to the general merriment of the ruling class, we go through said kids breaking said ruling class while sacrificing (sometimes pointlessly: Primm, Finnick? It's like she was trying very hard to make us care and she failed) much to achieve the goal and what for? For Katniss and Peeta to have sweet little life with sweet little kids? I suppose I ask too much of a book that is initially Twilight for thinking people but still... could have been a lot better.
I realy hate the epilogue the books are so good and I realy love them but it's not a fairy tale and the epilogue is. It's definatly not realistic that Peeta heals that much from the hijacking thing. Also is in my oppinion Katniss a-sexual so she should and up just on her own with a war-traume

I loved it. I think it was the right way to end it considering what the characters went through. We got a bittersweet ending with a glimpse into the challenges they were still dealing with.
I think it was the perfect balance of giving readers enough information to make the story feel finished while leading them on to wonder what happens next. Couldn't ask for a better ending :)

I think it was cute when they showed the kids and Peeta and Katniss. It was so nice and others say it wasn't necessary. I loved it.
I thought it was adorable! Their kids are so cute! I can`t wait to see what I have imagined in the movie!
How can anyone hate this?

i'm a huge fan of epilogues and i think that they give us a bit more of the resolution that we're always hoping for in stories like these where we are so invested. in this case i think that it was even more complicated given that you know that it couldn't be all happy happy joy since the world was in such a bad place and there was so much death and destruction for everyone involved. i liked to see that there's hope for these 2 in the future even though they are dealing with so much pain and suffering.
i think seeing a happy (or happier) family is just what we all needed to close out the series.

it was good but like hat Rewas said I was kind of disapointed
I liked it! I thought it was realistic. They continue their lives like everyone does after a war, but they still had their scars. I didn't think of it as a happy ever after ending though cause it was a little depressing to me, but totally realistic.
I love the Epilogue!
The ending before the epilogue might be a bit rushed with minimum information about the characters but the epilogue itself is nice & sweet. That despite the misery and unfortunate events have befallen both Katniss and Peeta, they managed to survive and face a brighter future.
