How to start your novel with style:

I zoomed through the first 20% last night, paused to eat (2nd try... first dinner was a disaster and threw it away)... watched some TV while eating and never returned to reading... should finish today...
It zoomed by so fast, what I read before pausing...
I think the sound effects work for the noir feel...

I almost feel like I need to start it again and listen at a slower pace.

There were definitely a lot of parts where it startled a laugh out of me. But nothing stuck in my mind except the premise. I think this would've been better as an eye read. It actually reminded me a bit of Hammers on Bone--P.I, twisted cases, weird sense of humor... body horror...
Also, finals right now, so brain is pretty fried trying to grade mountains of papers by Friday... LOL

But the next day I basically plowed through it.. Very interesting concept, and I'm just a big fan of how Cantero writes.. Lots of meta :D
Yea... I'm still super excited for his current book he's writing, with timey-wimey stuff and bastardly time cops...

I'd agree on this... I think I wasn't quite in the right mood for it either, though I could tell it was something I'd find more interesting in the right one... just a stressful few weeks here too.
