I read wise Man's fear and rated it 2 star. It was so bad ! It Felt like a 1000 page filler. We didn't learn any new information and the character development was no existent.
Pitch Dark - A serial thriller by Paul Doiron based on the exploits of Maine game warden Mike Bowditch. This is book 15 and the character has developed and matured. It's a great book. I rated it 5 stars.
Just finished Witch Chocolate Fudge (Bewitched by Chocolate 2) by H.Y. Hanna. 5 drooling stars out of 5. Made me crave chocolate sooo bad! I'm rereading the series as there was a 2 or 3 year gap after book 7, but the final 2 books were released this year so now I can finish it.
Time and Time Again by Ben Elton. Rated it 5 stars. Lots of historical facts which had me constantly interrupting my reading to check up on.
The most recent books I read:The Women Behind The Door, Roddy Doyle. A great read 5/5.
Intermezzo , Sally Rooney. Outstanding read 5/5.
The Golden Age, Joan London. Wonderful read ( reread) 5/5.
The Compass Killer, Michael Geczi. A good read. 4/5.
Quentins, Maeve Binchy. Lovely read ( reread) 5/5.
Wilderness Reform by Matt and Harrison Query. 1/5 ⭐️sI did not like it at all. It was so disappointing.
⭐️⭐️⭐️“The Hanging of Hettie Gale” By Tess Burnett
Set upon the misty moors and boggy fens of rural England, Award-winning debut novelist Tess Burnett’s evocative tale, “The Hanging of Hettie Gale,” is a dual-timeline missing persons mystery about an ancient tortured soul seeking revenge and a modern woman she communicates with through the help of crows. Readers will find Burnett’s prose lyrically poetic and her creative figures of speech artistically original, making this book noteworthy in many ways.
My primary objection to this fantasy fiction is the inclusion of an explicit rape scene that appears early in the book. An allusion to the attack would have worked just as well—especially since “The Hanging of Hettie Gale” is a ‘cozy mystery.’ This is not a horror or scary story. It is a morality tale (with a smidge of a modern-day romantic interlude thrown in for interest).
The Winters by Lisa Gabriele, i rated ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️It was a nice short read, had a couple good twists. All around a nice little mystery/thriller!
