Does anyone think The Exorcist would qualify in this category? I feel like the elements of demonic possession could arguably count as "magical" or fantastical; however, I know some might think it just as spiritual or even inner turmoil. Wondering what the general consensus would be! Thanks!
I have just read A Year at the Chateau by Dick and Angel Strawbridge. For me it definitely has a touch of magic and lived up to my expectations.
A great sense of place and indigenous magic abounds in When Two Feathers Fell From The Sky. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to save this long-winded book. Another novel bogged down by too many secondary characters, neverending back stories and the you're telling me - not showing me malady. Maybe because of that, author Margaret Verble seemed at a loss with what to do with her title and most interesting character, Two Feathers.I really wanted to love this book, especially since Verble's Cherokee America and Stealing were so good. Fans of western lit should definitely read those!
