J.S. Frankel | 22 comments Hi, I have ARCs of a couple of new novels out, Mr. Taxi and Picture (Im)perfect. Both are YA, the former being an action novel, and the latter a romance of a different sort.

Mr. Taxi: Driving the scum of the universe around one customer at a time. Aliens, action, interstellar taxis, comedy and more, this is sure to entrance the diehard action fans. http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Taxi-J-S-Fra...

Picture (Im)perfect is a romance novel between a straight cisgender guy and a mysterious girl with a somewhat different past. Has romance, comedy, and a twist on the tried-and-true romantic formula. http://www.amazon.com/Picture-Im-perf...

I have PDF's in both, so please message me here or at jesssfrankel@gmail.com. (Use all lower case letters for my gmail, please).

L.S. May | 15 comments Hi, everyone. I'm a YA writer, mostly SF and fantasy, usually with a dash of romance, and sometimes I even try to be funny.

My debut is the first in a series.
Confessions of Innocence Confessions of Innocence (Innocence Cooper #1) by L.S. May
Innocence Cooper was born to rule. She will inherit leadership of the Council of good magic when her father dies or retires. Every witch in the world knows her name. None can ever know her secret.

Her active power - controlling fire - is granted by the evil spirits, not the good ones. A prophecy made decades before her birth declares she will rule over all evil magic.

For seventeen years, Innocence has done the best she can to ignore it. But then the new kid reveals he knows her secret, he shares her power and he came to recruit her.

Her secret is getting out.

A Carpet of Purple Flowers by Tracey-anne McCartney

A Carpet of Purple Flowers

Blurb:

‘Every unknown is a beginning’

Bea lives a simple life residing in a SW London second-hand bookshop. It had been an especially difficult year, first with Bea’s uncle dying, then splitting up with Brandon, her philandering, druggie boyfriend. The shop’s trivial daily conversations, local faces and ordinary calm was all she desired – but that was all about to change.

No-one expects to bump into supernatural beings, let alone two opposing sects of a forgotten race. Bea’s quiet existence turns into turmoil as she slowly starts to unravel a secret past, a lost history in which love, revenge, betrayal, magic, power and karma are not mere cycles of a soul, but a sacred journey upon a web of many possibilities.

The future is not set in stone, and the choices that Bea makes ripple through the cosmos. As the secret unfolds she realises that no matter what form your soul takes there are consequences for your actions in which time has no relevance – we call it karma, they call it Vororbla.

Will she cope with the heartbreak and truths revealed before her?
What would you do if your very existence came into question?

G.W. Lwin (greglwin) | 3 comments Hi Everyone,

My name is Greg, and I will be releasing my novel 'THE SAMSARIC' on the 14 Nov 2015 on Amazon and looking for book reviewers.

The novel is a fantasy horror based on ancient history and mythology of Mesopotamia.

Here's a quick preview on the Synopsis:
The plague of 1918 A.D.
The mortal world is in a state of devastation.
A woman wakes up in an abandoned temple of Kali, the goddess of darkness, in an ancient city of Gaya.
She does not know where she is.
She does not remember the events leading to this.
She only hears a familiar voice of a tormented man who has haunted her dreams.
He tells her a story – of a time of souls and suffering, of immortality and gods, of life and death.
This, he says, is Mesopotamia.

Please message me if you are interested in reviewing this and I will send you a pdf copy.

My website is still under development but you can find me on my facebook author profile page below;

Elisa Catrina (elisacatrina) | 2 comments I swear I intended to be more on-the-ball, but my debut novel, THE FIRST BITE IS THE DEEPEST, is only free for a few more hours. I'd really like Goodreads folk to have it for the low cost of zero dollars, so here's the link!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015...

It's a comedy/horror vampire story, which one of my reviewers summed up much better than I could: "This excellent YA novel begins as a takedown of teenage vampire romance tropes, but it doesn't stop there. Elisa Catrina follows a group of high school seniors as they try to defend their friend Stella from a bloodsucking bad-news boyfriend."

Hope you enjoy!

Must Remember Must Remember

Nineteen-year-old Elizabeth ‘Beta’ Camden is a survivor.

When the E’mani—those pale alien freaks—destroy Earth with a plague of madness and scoop up the remains, Beta is one of the ‘lucky’ ones. For years, she endures their tortures, experiments and games. Then one day, she manages to escape their ship with her life, and no memory of her time with them.

Stranded on their world, Beta wanders the mountains, looking for a way home. She stumbles onto the Fost—the E’mani’s ancient enemy. Their war with the Imani is old and rooted in magic that the Fost once had and the Imani crave. Magic Beta soon discovers she’s developing along with strange tattoos and disturbing glimpses of her past. The Fost take her in and train her in their ways. As she spends more time with them, she falls in love with their culture and with Marin—he of the hot hands and slit eyes.

But the E’mani took her for a reason and they want her back—dead or alive. If Beta doesn’t remember that reason soon, they’re all going to die.

A.J. Sparber | 7 comments Thank you so much for providing this forum. We are a wife/husband writing team. I am a professor of education at Kent State University and my husband is a software architect. We've both published academic and technical works, with Ariel Rising being our first novel. Enough of that. Ariel would now like to say a few words...

Dear Readers,

My dreams were simple. College, a career, and let’s see what happens. But things don’t always go according to plan.

My name is Ari Worthington and I’ve had a very eventful week. A life-changing week. The kind of week that would make the average person whimper. It started when my ex-boyfriend Luke accosted me in the woods.

How badly was I injured? Not a scratch. And Luke? Not so lucky. Nope, I whupped him good. It surprised the heck out of him—once he woke up.

And then I met Davin. Handsome, witty, amazing Davin. Perfect in every way, unless you think being an alien, from a planet called Olympus, might be a liability.

“Seriously? Your planet is named after a Greek mountain?” I ask him.

“Actually, it’s the other way around,” he tells me. “The mountain was named after us. We’ve been visiting Earth for a very, very long time. As a matter of fact, we are responsible for human evolution.”

Imagine that. Shocking? Yeah. But there’s more. Davin’s an angel, which I could have handled, would have handled, if only he hadn’t told me I was one, too.

“But we don’t have wings,” I say.

“Real angels don’t need wings,” he counters.

“Ah, that explains everything,” I reply.

So, you think this is just another angel story? Well, it’s not. It’s got humor, romance, adventure, science, tragedy, and…did I say romance? It’ll make you think, and laugh, and cry.

Davin and I, you see, are part of a larger plan. A noble plan. A plan to save the sons and daughters of man, or what’s left of them, after the war. A big war.

Okay, enough of my rambling. Davin and I need to get back to training. And you’ve got some reading to do, yeah?

Best regards,

Ariel Worthington

I’ve got to say that I never expected anything like this to happen to me. I knew that I would have nightmare groups, but this class was something else. It was lie the instructor hated students and wanted to torture us all. How else would we be able to explain the fact that every single assignment has been working with groups. This last assignment was something else, though. My grade depended on the guy who always sleeps in class, that frat boy jock that doesn’t seem to care about anything other than skating through on someone else’s work. I can’t even figure out how this is all going to work out, but I’ve got to get through this. I want a better life than my parents had, after all.

Christine Fonseca (christine_fonseca) | 240 comments hi everyone. I'm back! After an 18 mos haitus, I have HUGE things planned for 2016.
First, I re-released both Transcend by Christine Fonseca and Collide (The Solomon Experiment #1) by Christine Fonseca with new covers and in all formats INCLUDING audiobook (and they turned out amazing - really great narrators for both).

Second, the sequels for Collide are due to come out in February and March. I will post more about them in January.

Finally, the Requiem series is getting a facelift, with new titles, new covers, additional content, and releases in all formats including audiobook - all starting in January. And yes, there are more books in the series.

I've missed you guys! I am thrilled to be back.

message 74: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, I really need your help!

My first novel, The Legend of Finndragon's Curse, has had a difficult journey on the road to publication. It all started four years ago when Dinefwr Press offered me a publishing deal. They wasted over a year of my time and then didn't even have the courtesy to tell me that they were no longer in the publishing business.

Fortunately, I'd sensed that something wasn't right and I still have the unsigned contract which I use as motivation when I get rejection letters from other publishers and literary agents.

After an attempt at self-publishing, I withdrew the book from all sales channels and rewrote the opening chapters which dumped too much information on the reader too quickly. I also trimmed 10,000 words, improving the pacing without detracting from the plot. I am really pleased with the end product and have now set off on my third attempt at getting the darned thing published.

I am now trying my luck with Inkshares Publishing, a crowdfunding publisher who offer writers a great deal - if you can get enough pre-orders to go into production. I only need 250 to ensure that an eBook is produced and 750 to also see the book in print. Inkshares will ensure that the book is published to the highest standard, with their excellent team taking care of editing, design, cover art and marketing.

What more could I ask for? Well, that's the thing. I need everyone's support to see my dream become a reality.

My Publishing Journey is a recent post on my 1000 World blog. Please take a look if you would like to help me in my ongoing struggle.

If you are a fantasy or sci-fi writer, you're welcome to visit the blog as I'm always promoting writers in these genres. There's something there for readers too.

Thanks

Richard

Tia - Child of Darkness by Astor Edwyn Teller

Its been a long time in the making, but I've finally got my latest work published.

The creation of Child Vampires had been outlawed since the mid 1960's, however there are still a few that survive from before that time.
One such child is Tia, a tiny, frail-looking, 8-year-old little girl, with fiery red hair, and a devilish temperament to match.
Following a spate of warnings from the Vampire Council about her sloppy kills and outright bad behaviour, Tia is forced to try and settle down and act more human, or face dire consequences.
With the help of Simon Gladstone, her newly initiated father, Tia does as she is told, and for a while, all appears well.
But then the child kills again, leaving one hell of a mess for the Council to clean up behind her, and they are far from happy.

If anyone likes the sound of this, then please buy and leave a review. Many thanks!

Janina has been running the whole year from bar to bar after the mister right one, however without any success so far. Finally she has had enough of searching for a suitable husband candidate. She decides to take up some totally other entertainment, so she joins Scouts. In the middle of nature with children she would not need to give men a second thought!
This is what Janina decides, but how long can she keep her decision when the broad-shouldered and energetic Troop Leader steps in the picture. He is so funny, witty, self-confident, handsome…, but also so annoying!
When furthermore another man comes to mess up her train of thought, there is no day without feelings surging up. And as Janina happens to be of that type whose feet do not keep on the firm ground the order of the pack of cards is a great mystery even to herself.”

Kai Strand (goodreadscomkai_strand) | 2 comments Hi readers! Like romantic suspense? I'm celebrating the 1 yr publication anniversary of my ya, Finding Thor and I'm looking for new reviews. Blog spotlights and social media shares are great too, but not required.

Finding Thor: Cara Cassidy always envisioned love as Thor, slamming his hammer into the earth, and the vibration resonating within her for a lifetime. She never expected love would be a thousand tiny actions from a normal boy. When international intrigue hits small-town America, more than the car chases will get your blood pumping.

Name: Alycia Christine
Book: Skinshifter
Email: alyciachristine@gmail.com

The full moon revealed her humanity. Now the hunters know her secret.

Skinshifters are a curse. The Asheken deadwalkers proved that fact when they used skinshifters to spy against the Sylvan races during the Second War of Ages. Now, after three centuries of peace, the deadwalkers have found a secret way back onto the Sylvan Continent and this time they seek not just to conquer their enemies, but to enslave them body and soul.

When the Feliconas Clan suffers the deadwalkers’ first raid, one werecat—a skinshifter who has concealed her abilities—survives the massacre. Even as Katja struggles with her grief and guilt over her murdered kin, she must unite with other Sylvan refugees to defeat the deadwalkers before they can butcher and defile the other races. But can this skinshifter trust her newfound allies or will their secrets prove even more treacherous than her own?

Kindle .mobi, .epub, and .pdf versions of this book are available.

Thank you!

Haven Francis (agirlandherbooks) | 4 comments New Adult high school romance, A God in Carver, is FREE on AMAZON now – May 21st
https://www.amazon.com/God-Carver-Hig...

What can I say about this other than it freaking rocked. This isn't your typical high school romance, it's more. I don't want to give anything away, but you need to read this. (AMAZON REVIEW)

In the small town of Carver, Georgia, Tatum Austin is known as a lot of things: scantily dressed waitress; one of the infamously beautiful and trashy Austin girls; outspoken and widely feared badass and completely unattainable unless you’re Nash Carter whom she lets into her bed when she’s feeling generous.

What she’s not is academic. What she will never be is a fan of the almighty high school football team. Some might say giving her the job of sports reporter was a mistake. Those people would be right.

Forced back into her former life of popular jocks and cheerleaders Tatum plans to decimate the Carver Cougar’s, one article at a time. She knows that having to finally confront her past heartbreak is going to be bad for the players, but what she couldn’t have guessed is that one of them might be the best thing that’s ever happened to her… again.

She said she'd do anything to prove her love to him - now she's being put to his test.

100+ Reviews ~ 4.5 Amazon Stars

He's BIG, he's BAD and he only wants one thing.

Revenge.

Ric Ryker spent years being called “Big Dick.”

Ridiculed for his weight, shunned by all the pretty girls, snubbed by all the cool guys.

But after a secret journey of transformation, he’s back—ready to take over leadership from his father at Ryker Arms—with an impressive new physique and a plan to prove them all wrong.

Especially her.

The one woman who hurt him the most.

Annalesa—sweet, smart, stunning.

And his stepsister.

The girl he could never have.

The girl who wouldn’t look twice at him anyway—especially in front of her stuck-up friends.

Now he’s going to make her want him.

Show her just what she was missing.

And hurt her, just like she hurt him.

He’s got the weapon and he’s taken aim—but he didn’t count on his own heart getting caught in the crossfire.

This is a stand-alone novel with no cliffhanger ending.
