Hiya, SOSers! I'm still working on prep and the signup thread link above doesn't yet work, but I thought I'd open this thread in case anyone wants to start chattering about the upcoming round. We're mixing things up a bit this go-round and hoping you'll enjoy it. 😊
Extremely excited with the Bingo activity. Seeing dozens of Bingo notifications this morning made my day!! Can’t wait.
I’m always excited to see another round of bingo. I’ve been in such a reading slump that I need something for a kickstart.

Can I remind everyone to add books to the bookshelf. Especially as this round the bookshelf is a wonderful resource for fellow bingoers to pick from.
Also this round we will be using the amazon genre shelves, and for this round only if you find a book there that isn't on GR yet, I'll be adding them for you. Just list them here in the discussion thread and link to amazon.

I've added a couple that'd help me out 😉

Yay! Glad to hear it, Angie Elle!
The GR shelf lists only let you look at the first 25 pages of books. I have a book for bear shifter that is not in the first 25 pages of UF or PNR but both of these shelves are listed as MPG on the book page. Can the book be used and how should it be designated to qualify?
Hi Linda, if the book is listed MPG for UF or PNR, its all good. This time around you'll just need to say its UF or PNR, etc as well as how it qualifies for the awareness shelf, in this case its a bear book. The shelf lists have been at 25 pages for a couple of years now, but the actual book has genre lists if enough people have shelved it. So you can always use the actual book's lists if its not on the shelf lists.
Just to clarify. The call for this week has to have food on the cover, in addition to being on one of the 5 shelves?

Sorry , one more question! I found
on the list, but couldn’t find
on the list…. Same series…. Am I able to use Bookshops & Bonedust ? And can I add it to the shelf?
So I discovered that GR has shelves for books with food on the cover. Same for apples, cupcakes, pizza etc. I scrolled down looking for series that sounded PNR UF-ish. Then checked to see if it had the right genre listed. This might help: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/5...
Because I didn’t want to re-read “Twilight “ and after scrolling through pages without any luck… I was looking for an easier way.

Trinia, checking the book page lists, 3 people have shelved it as urban fantasy, just remember it doesn't come out till 7 November.

Hello, just a question. If a Book of the Month has less than 200 pages, is it OK for Free Space or not?Note: My edition has less than 200 pages but paperback edition has more than 200 pages.

If a particular book of the month edition has more than 200 pages, use that edition Marisa.
We always use the edition with more than 200 pages, or the edition with something particular on the cover, no matter what edition you actually read. We've been doing that since Round 1. :)

Ok, thank you, so I guess I'll be with a kitty ;)
From the Supernatural Thriller shelf The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert, there's a cup spilled over with liquid coming out would that count for food on the cover? I started the book I picked but am not enjoying it. So I'm looking to switch lol
Sarah wrote: "From the Supernatural Thriller shelf The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert, there's a cup spilled over with liquid coming out would that count for food on the cover? I started the book I..."There also appears to be a bone on the cover. I wonder if that would count.
Sandra wrote: "Sorry no Sarah, liquid was determined not to be food for bingo."Oh okay gotcha! Thank you :)
I just want to be sure I'm on the right track lol
That's a gingerbread man on the cover is that okay? I know the answer might seem obvious but I just want to be sure lol It's also found on the urban fantasy shelf.
Hey guys, just a friendly reminder ... When posting your review this round, you must include which of the five shelves/genres you found the book that fits the awareness category announced for the week.

Lemme know if you have any questions or need assistance. Thanks 😊
Would it be possible to expand on this weak shelf? “ Read a book featuring your book boyfriend”.Does it mean that it has to have the tag book boyfriend to qualify? The definition in my mind is quite vague on what it is and isn’t.
