2 STARS
Open Throat by Henry Hoke

Unrated
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain (not for ATY52)
(unrated because the writing was fine, just not a story that interested me)

DNF
What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez (not for ATY52) (YA that was written in a very shallow way - boring. Chose by book club member who ended up not liking it either)
Pageboy by Elliot Page (not for ATY52) (Tried listening to audio. Author/autobiographer did not sound interested in their own story, and wasn't learning anything from this telling. Felt like author wrote book because they felt they "should" rather than that they "wanted to".)
Notes of a Native Son by James Baldwin (not for ATY52) (The language was difficult to understand - maybe was part of current events at the time written? - and I wasn't getting the experience I hoped for. Will try one of his novels in the future)
