I participated in the Readalong for The Phoenix Crown, which worked for several prompts. I am going ti use it for this one.
I read Our Share of Night by Mariana Enriquez. The chapters are looooooooong but they do have dates lol. Also amazing book, one of my top faves this year, I can already tell.
For this one I'm reading the 3 books by Philippa Gregory Philippa Gregory
in the Fairmile Trilogy:1 - Tidelands
2 -
Dark Tides3 - Dawnlands
I love a good serial read!
I read The German GirlSome chapters have headings of years, some of months and years, even a few have Day, Month, Year.
I have two books that I would like to read for this prompt; The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and Love and Saffron by Kim Fay.
I just finished reading Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant. Every chapter heading shows a date and location. In case anyone is looking for a book to fit into other prompts, Into the Drowning Deep also has an omniscient narrator, more than 4 POV, features the ocean, has a grieving character, and I'm sure also applies to other prompts that I'm not thinking of.
I gave the book 4 stars. I enjoyed it, though it is a little slow in parts.
CW: horror, eco-horror, body-horror/gore
The Eye of God by James Rollins. It also has a palindrome on the cover, women in STEM, and is set in landlocked countries (Kazakhstan and Mongolia).
It's not Earth dates, but The Martian counts! Most of the chapters (and sections within chapters) start with Mars mission dates in Sols (i.e. Mars days) since the start of the Ares 3 mission.
Mine is a slight cheat - Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson - the chapters headings are times rather than dates, but it is times of the day so if you squint it fits (listened to the audiobook years ago and loved it, been wanting to reread)
I read The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean for this prompt. Each chapter has a general time period (present, 12 years ago, 3 months ago, etc.) as a header. I really liked this book, the plot, characters, language, etc. were all amazing. The backstory for the creation of the book eaters is so bizarre, I really hope she writes a sequel one day that goes into more detail about it.
I choose How to Solve Your Own Murder by Kristen Perrin
I really enjoyed this one and look forward to the sequel being released next year.
I read Berlin 1936 about the Olympics in Berlin thatyear. Interesting look at the people and the city as the Nazis put on a show for the world.
I read Mujer Equivocada (The Wrong Woman) by Mercedes Rosende. I realized it had dates and that I could finally place it here!
I’m count the Trap by Ava Glass. A date was highlighted in each chapter kind of like anew chapter section New author to me and who doesn’t love a female spy.
Also palindrome on cover and happened in 1 weekish
We're reading A Love Song for Ricki Wilde by Tia Williams for the "chapter headings have dates'" challenge.
I read Funny Story by Emily Henry. I like this one better than Beach Read, but not as much as Book Lovers. However, all three of them are 4 Stars.
