I read this a couple years ago, and it came to me at just the right time, also! I had just retired and needed a way to determine what my new path would be going forward. I found it just what I needed.

Eric wrote: "Bit left of centre, but I feel like the Murderbot series is a pretty good match for this one."I think you and I are thinking along the same lines. I'm reading The Hierarchies for this prompt.
I’m half way through Before We We’re Yours and just realized what a perfect fit it is for this prompt. It’s a very literal interpretation and that’s exactly how my mind works. Anyone else think this works?
I really didn't enjoy Marked by P.C. & Kristin Cast, but it certainly had themes about finding identity in it.
I'm reading Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver! This also works for prompts 21-22 but I really don't want to read the Charles Dickens book that inspired Demon Copperhead lol
This may be a bit of a stretch, but I used Spilled Milk by KL Randis for prompt #43 "about finding identity" because there is a key moment when the protagonist realizes her family is not the same as other families over a glass of spilled milk and launches her journey of help and healing.
This month I'm also reading graphic novels so I went YA and read the first 4 volumes of Heartstopper.
I read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. Originally I planned on a different choice, but after reading it decided that it fit well for this prompt. Rating: 4.5 stars
I read Weyward by Emilia Hart. All three female characters work their way towards recognizing their own strengths. https://cdnbookworm.blogspot.com/2024...
Just finished Charming Young Man by Eliot Schrefer. Cute book chosen for me for the finding identity prompt. 4⭐️
I was originally going to use 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami for this prompt, but I was continuing The Overthrow series by Kenneth Oppel (I used Bloom for #51) and the second book, Hatch: A Novel, deals a lot with themes of identity.
MaryAnn wrote: "I read Chasing Fireflies by Charles Martin for this prompt. It was excellent!"Agreed!
I read Fable
by Adrienne Young. I don't think this was on the list but this certainly hit home for me. I had intended to use this for a personal phobia but Fable's connection and relationship with the sea is beautiful and magical and did not speak to my fear. This is a fast-paced, page-turning, coming-of-age story that kept me reading late into the night. 5 Stars.
This book would also fit the following prompts:
3: More than 40 Chapters
8: Features an Ocean
14: A Grieving Character
20: A Revenge Story
31: A Personal Phobia.
It would also be a great one for found family IF that was a prompt option. ;0
I wonder if Under the Bridge could work for this.I mean even though it's a true crime book (view spoiler)
I read 2 books in this prompt. First I read The keeper of stories by Sally Page. It was nice 3/5Then I read GREAT EXPECTATIONS by Charles Dickens FANTASTIC NOVEL Loved it so much 5/5
Reem wrote: "The Girl with Seven Names: A North Korean Defector’s Story"I just finished that and used it for a heavy read in the summer challenge. Great book and good for identity too!
I read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. Enjoyable. I taught it in a banned books class in the spring.
Listened to the audiobook of Moana for this prompt. As with the movie, I enjoyed the story, although the book was very short so some content and depth missed in my opinion.
