We're listening to The Door-to-Door Bookstore by Carsten Henn for the "picked without reading the blurb" challenge.

Initially, I planned on reading manga for this prompt, but "Les Aerostats" by Amélie Nothomb came out on Storytel and I didn't think it twice. I'll read any Amélie Nothomb that crosses my path and I hardly ever read the blurb, I just read and always like it.
I was recommended the book The Psychology of Money with no explanation (outside of the title) and a couple of months later found it and bought it. Since I had it but hadn't read the blurb I thought this was a great book for this prompt.
I read "Quit Like A Woman" by Holly Whitaker. it was recommended to me by someone so I put it on my hold list from the library and when it came up I didn't remember where it came from so I read it. Really wasn't my thing, but had some interesting chapters.
I ended up reading When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain by Nghi Vo. I'd read the first book in the series a few years back, so I had an idea of what the tone of the story would be like, but no clue what the actual plot would be when I went in... I just knew it'd be good! ;)
I read A Meal in Winter by Hubert Mingarelli, which I received as part of a book subscription. So I didn't pick the book, it was picked for me. https://cdnbookworm.blogspot.com/2024...
I read The Library of the Dead by T. L. Huchu. This was a library read. I've seen this book for a while, while poking around on Goodreads. If it has "library" in the title, that's usually an auto-add to my TBR.
I enjoyed it! It was a little slow to get going, but a fantastic look at a near-future Edinburgh, after some dystopian event has occurred.
I think this could also qualify for the hybrid genre. It's urban fantasy, with a mystery thrown in. Also a little dark academia? That may grow throughout the rest of the series.
Read Travel by Bullet by John Scalzi. It's the last book in the series and I've been binge-listening them. Great quick listens to keep me entertain on the ride to work.
I chose Night Watch by Jayne Anne Phillips. book:Night Watch|62951865] It came thru my LFL and I didn't read the blurb on purpose for this prompt. So far so good.
I chose “The Codex” by Douglas Preston because I love all of his books so I buy them without looking at the blurbs. It is an awesome thriller that takes you to the Mayan temples in Honduras on a treasure hunt.
I read Why We Love Baseball: A History in 50 Moments by Joe Posnanski. The title pretty much explained it, no need to look into it further. Brought it and read it.
I read Munich Wolf by Rory Clements for this topic as I had read previous books inthe series (Read June 28; 4*)
I'm going to go with From a Buick 8 by Stephen King. I love Stephen King but have no idea what this one is about. I got the audiobook so I know it'll be a good time. I've enjoyed all of his books on audio so far.
Listened to The Adventure Of The Red Circle, audiobook told by Stephen Fry. Other than it being a Sherlock Holmes story, I had no idea what it was about. The book told the story of an Italian couple moving to New York to get married against their parents' wish. The husband gets unwillingly involved in a secret society, experiencing pressure to commit crimes and receiving threats. The couple flees to London, but the most dangerous member of the secret society follows them. The husband kills the man.
I read Kate Kingsbury’s Dead and Breakfast Cozy mystery as I fancied something a little lighter while travelling. Perfect for this prompt!
