Mary Jane by Jessica Anya Blau. Charming coming-of-age story set during the summer of 1975. Nostalgic for those of us raised in that era. 4 stars.
I read Through the Woods by Emily Carroll. I never appreciated how few books have lowercase letters on the spine.
We're reading Curvy Girl Summer by Danielle Allen for the "lowercase letters on the spine'" challenge.
I read 'the man who didn't call' by Rosie Walsh. Both on the cover and the spine the title is in lowercase. https://cdnbookworm.blogspot.com/2024...
I’m rereading A Clockwork Orange for this prompt. “The Korova Milkbar was a milk-plus mesto, and you may, O my brothers, have forgotten what these mestos were like, things changing so skorry these days and everybody very quick to forget, newspapers not being read much neither.”
If anyone is trying to find a book for this prompt, any title published in the New York Review of Books series works, since their logo is lowercase letters (nyrb) on the spine of each book. I read the NYRB title of Walkabout by James Marshall Vance, which I can't really recommend — but it was a very quick, short read (130p) that worked for this prompt.
I was struggling finding a book with ONLY lowercase letters on the spine that would catch my attention and I was about to lose hope until I went back here and read the description again only to figure out it doesn't have to be ONLY lowercase letters (my bad).It was a relieve to be able to add one of my favorite reads of the year: "A Sunny Place for Shady People" by Mariana Enriquez.
I read the Spanish version.
