[Subdue] Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick ★★★½

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure what the title is to do with the story! It is set during spring break and as the two girlfriends made their way up the mountain, a snowstorm broke out. They got lost, got held hostage and there the story truly began.

There are limited number of characters in this novel as they are pretty much trapped on a mountain in a snowstorm. However, there were flashbacks to the past exploring the protagonist's relationships with 2 others; her bff and her ex who is also her bff's brother. And they are both just terrible characters - how is she even "friends" with them?!

There really isn't much I can say about the novel without spoilers so I'll stop there and note that it was a very quick and enjoyable read. Enjoyable in the sense that it was just comforting escape even if this is supposed to be a thriller/suspense. This is straight out suspense romance so whatever twists were not really twists as I guessed them so easily beforehand so it was just a cozy smooth ride/read for me.
