I read this book in the early to mid 2010s. I think it was the first in a series but I only ever read the first book. It's about this teenage boy who can go back in time and relive events of his life, but only really does it to mess around because when he moves back forward to the present, nothing was ever changed, as if he never went back at all. As far as he knows, he's just always had this ability.
There was something significant about his mom, though I don't remember what it was. Maybe it was that he couldn't go back to his memories of her, or the last time he saw her was weird and mysterious? I don't remember. I think she worked for a secret government facility and may have purposely given her son his time travel powers without the knowledge of her superiors.
In any case, someone finds out about him, and shows him that he can actually change the past if he focuses hard enough (or it may have just been that he created alternate timelines every time he did it)
I think the book ended with him deciding to use his newfound knowledge/abilities to find his mom and what happened to her
