Jacqueline (applejacksbooks) Her books are badly written and romanticize domestic abuse. Also there was a situation with her son being accused of sexual harassment a few years ago and when the girl reached out for help, Hoover blocked the girl. So like all over just kind of trash.

sofia I like her.. but for example the book ,,it ends with us” is about violence and so on. and a few months ago her son abused a girl and colleen blocked the girl when she asked for help.
It just depends on the person I guess but she was the first author I’ve ever read. not really proud of it anymore but yes..

samantha (sambaillie) | 116 comments the way in which’s she approached topics in her books are very strange to say the least lol. i did give a few of her books a chance but i can say i’ll definitely never pick one of her books up again.

each to their own if someone does like her writing. i just think that if you are writing about topics such as DV, it shouldn’t be done in this way.

Meera | 16 comments I mean if you look past her horrible marketing of her books which imply glorification of abuse and violence in relationships and questionable morals regarding her son's case of harassment, you can appreciate her writing mind and skills. Even though she is overhyped by 'it ends with us' I believe she is also overhated for the topics and themes she chooses for her works.
I, personally, have only read two of her books and they were really good. She writes complex characters with complex relationships that are not all rainbows and sunshine. Her characters are not always lovable, their actions not always excusable and their choices very questionable and so it makes the reader uncomfortable when they stay together in the end or the resolution is not like they imagined. Because the likelihood of us being in these kinds of imperfect relationships is much higher than any romance reader would like.

♡ Ana Julia ♡ I don't hate her but I understand that her books are usually controversial because are always playing with the line between toxicity and intensity (or whatever you wanna call it) so some people falls on one side (love them) and others on the other side (hate them)
(I didn't know about her son tho)

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 16 comments Because she romanticises toxic relationships and male leads in her books. She romanticises abuse. Also, her son was involved in sexual harassment case and she supported him.
