Georgia (georgiajean) | 5 comments Hey there! I'm looking for a book I read around 2009. I believe it's a YA book because I found it laying out on a random shelf in my local library (it wasn't in the stacks, just laying out like someone left it there) and the main protagonist was probably a pre-teen or young teenage girl. I believe the plot was about a family who is either caretaking for or moves into an old mansion (that I believe was somewhat rural), and the MC and her younger brother become friends with the ghost of a girl who used to live in the house. I believe there is a will or something that the main characters are trying to find, and the "villain" is a guy who has a claim on the property or otherwise has a reason to find the will himself? I'm also, like, 90% sure the ghost girl's name was Annie. It's a super short book, maybe around 200 pages or less, and I think it was already a few years old by the time I read it. The entire cover had a blue tint to it, and there was an old house in the background with the ghost of the girl in the foreground, only showing her chest-up. I think her hair was half pulled back and was lighter, and I remember her being dressed "Victorian". The image on the cover had a blue border around it, as well. I know alot of books from this time period have super similar covers, but that's how I remember it. It's not "Old Willis Place" (or any book by Mary Downing Hahn) or Ghost Sitter.

Topic header is WAY too vague. Please add plot details to it. There are millions of books about ghosts.

Did you try searching as above?"

I've never seen this site before, I'm going to have to give it a try! I did a search like this in the library catalogue I got the book from, but I think it's unfortunately been long out of circulation by now😕

Nope, all their books are more recently published. I read this book in 2009 and I remember it being a few years old already at that point!

Capn | 3506 comments 2008 has: The Haunting of Annie Mackay?
"Annie is being haunted by horrific nightmares and just as she graduates from middle school she inherits a house from a distant relative she didn't know existed. Although apprehensive about moving to distant Fog Island she understands that it is the chance for a new start for her family"

Jade Michaelson (goodreadscomjmichaelson06) | 289 comments Might it be any of the Nina Tanleven series by Bruce Coville? I think the most popular might be The Ghost Wore Gray. It's been so long since I read them, I can't remember if a deed was the answer to helping any of the ghosts or not. They are older books, from the 90's.

Lia Darracott | 1 comments I just came across this as I was looking for a book and I think this is the same book I was looking for, All the Lovely Bad Ones by Mary Downing Hahn? It came out in 2007 so it could be the one you're looking for. Or she has another book called Deep and Dark and Dangerous that has a similar plot (I think).
