I would love to suggest my book I Zombie I. This is the first in the "I Zombie" trilogy. The second in the series is due out next month! Here's the description of I Zombie I:"The virus has spread."
In a moment of pure chaos, the majority of the Earth's population has become the walking dead. One man promises to help bring the truth to light.
"The lies have spread."
When journalist Jacob Plummer is infected, Jacob turns to the written word to not only ease the pain of change, but to bring to surface a truth far deeper and deadlier than anyone could have imagined.
"The truth must now be spread."
With the help of a rag-tag group of survivors, Jacob helps to fight off the growing undead horde in hopes of saving himself and the planet from the rot growing within.
Here's one of my books: Resurrection Planet Second Edition (Master Key Press, 2011). A military science fiction adventure in the zombie genre. http://www.amazon.com/Resurrection-Pl...
Some readers praised the original, one reader hated it mainly because the novel is a mix of genres, and the first edition was not well formatted for the Kindle.
Others I like: Het Madden, The Zombie's Survival Guide, Zombie Fallout, and The Walking Dead series.
My favorite zombie books would have to be the Day by Day Armageddon series and The Morningstar Saga. One book that hasn't been mentioned yet is Ex-Heroes, I just got done reading it a few days ago and I enjoyed it. It has to do with superheros and zombies so it's not for everyone.
I just released a zombie short story collection, "Zombie Tea Party"...http://www.amazon.com/Zombie-Tea-Part...

My two peronal favorites, and theyre both series are:The "Autumn" series by David Moody
& the "Day By Day Armageddon" series by J.L. Bourne, you can't go wrong with either one!
David Moody is awesome for zombie reading. And his books Hater and Dogs Blood are good as well. Also the Zombie Fallout series by Mark Tufo are good as well.
The Dark Trilogy is one of my recent reads and very high on my recommended Zombie books - especially if you like a lot of gory zombie action!
Three Kindle books that I've recently read that I rated a 5:Voyage of the Dead (Sovereign Spirit #1)
