I had never heard of the book before it got nominated, nor have I seen the movie. But just now I was researching possible discussion questions and now I am super curious!
I just had a slight brain malfunction that you haven't seen Bladerunner. You're definitely missing out:) I might join - need to check ARC schedule first.
This was my first husband's favorite movie. I tried to watch it once but I guess I wasn't in the mood at the time. I found his copy of the book while cleaning my bookshelves! I read it early but I'll jump in the discussion when I can :)
I will join. Never read it. Don’t think I was able to watch Blade Runner but I saw number 2 made by Denis Villeneuve.
This is the kind of book out of my comfort zone, but I'm daring enough to open my mind and read it.I haven't seen the movie either, but I really like the soundtrack by Vangelis.
The original Blade Runner film is one of my favorites. It uses a lot of the material from the book but differs from the book in many ways. I highly recommend watching it if you haven't already. The book is a good introduction to the world of Philip K Dick, whose stories have been converted to films many times - Total Recall, Minority Report, and A Scanner Darkly just to name a few. PKD's book Ubik is on Time Magazine's list of 100 best American Novels. His novel The Man in the High Castle was made into an Amazon original TV show.
I did not enjoy the audio version of this book. Narrator Scott Brick has a quirky style that some people enjoy and others hate. I would recommend listening to a sample before purchase if you're thinking about going that route.
Looking forward to joining in with this one! I haven’t seen Blade Runner, but the book has been sitting on my tbr shelf for a while.
Switching from English to French. Not sure I will understand more what is happening but at least I'll try! :-)

This book was nominated by Lorraine for our monthly theme Dreams.
It was January 2021, and Rick Deckard had a license to kill. Somewhere among the hordes of humans out there, lurked several rogue androids. Deckard's assignment--find them and then..."retire" them. Trouble was, the androids all looked exactly like humans, and they didn't want to be found!
Who is planning to join this read? Were you familiar with this book before Lorraine nominated it? Have you seen the movie Blader Runner?
