I’m glad you love their solo projects though! They’re all amazng and unique and screams each members personality, whilst remind me of some of their music in their albums as BTS! 💜💜
@emily i respectfully disagree with that opinion. it feels kinda weird for someone to prefer members of your favourite group as separated instead of a group.😭😭
let’s say a person prefers your favourite group who you have “grown up” separated instead. 😖
i agree with all the other armies who loves bts as a group, the seven of them worked hard together to become successful and pave a path for each of them to be successful as soloists. so no, I wouldn’t say they’re better off as soloists instead of a group. and as much as I love their solo songs so so much, i prefer there ot7 songs much more. bts forever 💜💜🫶

BTS' hiatus has benefitted a lot of other k-pop groups. Since, they are all going to the military, their promotional events and other stuff has decreased so much. No one was able to take over when they were together not even Blackpink.
that’s great that you love their solo music! i’m glad bts have the opportunities to be soloists before their military service because we can actually see their style of music, the things they want to share to us, their personalities, and their amazing voices in general! while I agree with you how their solo projects are just dropped straight out of heaven, I don’t agree they are better being soloists. it’s sorta triggering for all bts stans to hear this… =,)
@nat, noo i feel u. because if someone were to say that they prefer a group broken up over a group together is absolutely sad for me especially when it’s my ult. sorry, i just can’t go past that opinion 🧍♀️the good thing for me is that it’s just temporarily and a hiatus. and i am enjoying a lot of their solo musics ✌️✌️
@nat agree agree!! looking forward to red velvet’s chill kill 😍
and don’t worry, armies, after 2025, bts are reunited once again and they have renew their contracts to 2032! 🥰

(I have been gone like all day and I came back home and I was like wow lol) Ok So I feel like I have to explain myself when I said I like them more as soloists I meant specifically their music not their persons. It also probably doesn't help that I started to get into K-pop around the time when Jin had announced he was going to the military. So I didn't really ever get to see them together anyway.
@emily then the opinion really isn't for you to say because well, you don't know them as a group so why compare them to them as solo artists?
@nat i love skz and if someone preferred solo artists vs the band then, i'd go to (chill) kill mode as well!
This section is called UNPOPLAR opinions for a reason, I knew that mine would be MAJORLY unpopular, and I am completely fine with that. I just ask that you don't question my ability or my "right" to have my own opinions.

some people care way to much about looks and thats how we get a group of visuals that cant sing or dancecompanies are too obsessed with westernising songs and artists - it doesnt feel like kpop anymore and on the whole the last 3 years of music have been the worst
solo stanning is ok if ur not dragging the other members down
no one will ever do sexy concepts as well as aoa - they lack the subtlety
and finally - 2ND GEN PAVED THE WAYY!!! but so did BTS. it depends on what era ur from. I got into kpop before bts debuted so theres no way they couldve paved the way for me - 2nd gen did. but for others its different. who paved the way will never be a fact but it will be based on your age and what year you started listening
@darcey 2nd gen may have prepared a base for 3rd gen within Korea but 3rd gen definitely made kpop go global. First, BTS and then Blackpink. Internationally, nobody knew about 2nd then other than psy and that's because of gangam style.
@❃A.J❃ i beg to differ tbh, i got into kpop because of 2nd gen - how was i to do this if they didnt make some kind of impact?? i never said bts didnt pave the way either i said they did it for new fans like second gen did for me.
groups like wonder girls were very big and they had a nickelodeon movie and toured with the jonas brothers they (along with psy, 2ne1, boa to name a few) collabed with many western artists and groups like shinee, epik high, 2ne1 and gdragon had made impact enough to tour worldwide, snsd etc were on daytime and nighttime talk shows and snsd G-Dragon and Shinwa were played on uk and us radio's in like 2014 if im not mistaken
around this time krystal was also made an embassador for a global company and others probably have too.

oh wow that's cool u got in at 2nd gen. i don't know a lot of people who got into kpop in 2nd gen but i know a lot of people who got in to kpop at 3rd gen
2nd generation paved the way but 3rd gen made kpop more global/international. beginning 3rd gen kpop did pave their way as well.
nat ♡ wrote: "umm let me express what do i think of this, because 2nd gen paved the way and saying that 3rd gen made kpop go global is weird because if we are honest, the only kpop groups that made kpop go globa..."I think the only kpop groups that did made kpop go global was BTS and Blackpink. Other groups right now are all internationally famous as well, but it was those 2 who made kpop actually international. For me, calling them global isn't weird. There were a lot of international fans at 2016-2018 when both BTS and BP both released much of their music. And I don't think it was only Dynamite and Butter that made BTS global, they were already global before that (Dope, Spring Day, DNA, Fake Love, etc.).
nat ♡ wrote: "both 2nd and 3rd gens are literally THE gens tho. most ofb4th gen kpop isnt really kpop and 5th gen is just normal pop with a few korean words."Ugh, true. 4th gen songs sound exactly the same and their's no unique concept. Every comeback is literally the same, to me. (Sorry 4th gen stans, I'm just a big 3rd and 2nd gen stan 🙂)
Also agree, especially about the 5th gen part. 85% English and 15% Korean 🤡
This doesn't seem so K-poppy any more 😭
agree! 2nd gen (bigbang, girls generation, shinee) paved the way but 3rd gen made kpop global (bts, blackpink, exo, twice, red velvet, nct, seventeen). i feel like many 4th generation kpop groups' share similar concepts and genres, and 5th generation isn't really kpop, to me.
According to google the 5th gen started in March 2023 with boynextdoor I think (they also debuted in March 2023.
❃A.J❃ wrote: "@dlana I agree. BTS first gained international recognition with DNA."
yes! as stated in their biography (beyond the story), bts's 'dna' was the first of many things (shows, charts, views on youtube) for kpop and themselves!

so i guess newjeans isn't part of 5th generation? honestly, i still kinda see them as 5th gen 🥲

same, they give off more 5th gen vibes
DNA was released during 2017. I believe during and after 2020 when Dynamite was released, that's when Kpop became even bigger.
@nat Dynamite and butter got so much attention because they were in English and specifically made for western audiences imo. But with DNA they gained popularity way before. BTS had become super popular by 2018.
@nat I didn't say that bp didn't contribute. They definitely did! I was talking just about BTS before. I know d4 is super popular.
unpopular opinion: literally all 4th gen girl groups are doing better than most 4th gen boy groupsas in doing better, it means they are more successful and have more variety in their music
i wouldn't say 4th gen ggs are more popular but i prefer their music a whole lot better and their music are much more diverse. for 4th gen bgs, some of their music are okay but i don't really prefer it and many of their comebacks are too similar, i'm sorry it gets a lil boring 😭
but then again, i wouldn't really know since i don't keep up with 4th gen kpop, as i'm a big 3rd gen stan haha <3

i don't think she means by FANBASES and VOTING because obviously 4th gen bgs have bigger fanbases then 4th gen ggs, but i think it's because 4th gen ggs songs tend to go more viral. (nwjns, lsfm, ive) idk for me, 4th gen ggs are a lot more iconic then 4th gen bgs cuz 4th gen bgs are all kinda too similar. 😭😭
but it's not about fanbases, it's about the quailty in their music i'd say.
nat wrote: "r ♡ wrote: "nat wrote: "Jennie ♡ wrote: "people tend to know more gg that are 4th gen than bg's"let me disagree here. as someone who has been active on kpoptwt i can say that boygroups definitely..."
currently 4th gen ggs are doing a lot better then 4th gen bgs because most of 4th gen ggs are consistent and they're known.... while they're are only a handful of some really successful 4th gen bgs
alright then! it's just an opinion and i follow both bgs and ggs so i compared how they were doing to make my point! i guess u think 4th gen bgs are doing better then 4th gen ggs and that's totally okay!! :) it's just ur opinion :)
I kept hearing Gidle's 'Queencard' play everywhere when it was released, and some of there old songs. Oh, and I keep hearing 'Perfect Night', too. 😅
ok so by 'tend to know' i meant as in quickly remember ggs over bgs, like people would most likely name more ggs than bgs tho
@nat I think both ggs and bgs are doing really well. I am a girl and so mostly like girl artists but not not k-pop lol. Korean men are soooo hot I just can't bring myself to not love them more!!!
