JohnnyV | 6 comments Hello, Sorry if this has been asked before. I stumbled upon a problem.
I have my books database were I add the books I own and those I read. So far all's OK... It happens however that I have more than one same book but in a different Edition. I don't seem to find how I can ADD this into my personal base. I can do 'Change Edition' but I want to insert and display BOTH (or more) in my list... So how do I do this ??? Hope I make sense and get a reply... Greetz all John...

Drace (dracenines) | 7416 comments This is the method I use to shelve different editions of the same book:

- Go to the page for the specific edition of whatever book you want to add to your shelf.

- Scroll down to Ratings & Reviews. It'll show you a picture of the edition that you already have shelved.

- Click the right arrow button on the screen. It'll show you a bit that says "Review this edition". Click the "write a review" button there.

- This will take you to the review page for the specific edition you're on and not the edition you've already read. There's a little section that says "Bookshelves/tags" and you can shelve the new edition from there.

It's a lot of steps to do something simple, but hopefully it helps.

I disagree. This specific information is VERY difficult to find when searching GR help. I know, because I hunted for MONTHS trying to find the same information. I finally learned how to do it when someone posted a tip in this group.

My sympathies are with the OP, and I thank the second poster for answering their question. Because this IS the Questions folder, and there's not enough clarity on what is and is not appropriate for this folder or this group. Certainly, newbies won't find enough guidance in the intro to this group. There's no clear, top-level statement that says "This group is for editing records on Goodreads." And that's a shame.

JohnnyV | 6 comments Drace and Mesembryanthemum thanks, the first for Your reply and the second for understanding, Indeed Goodreads is a fab page but not that user friendly to say the least. Corinne, I bookmark this link and when I have other 'functionality' questions rest assured I'll post e'm there... Drace, TNX again for the workaround, appreciated JohnnyV

Edit : Drace, worked perfectly :)

JohnnyV | 6 comments Hello Corinne, tnx for making it clear again... As I said before I will use the wright page in the future to ask a question like this. I saw this 'Can I review multiple editions of a book?' while searching but did not go into it as it said 'Review a...' and I wanted to 'Add a different edition' so the title did not reflect this... My mistake... Feel free to delete this tread to clean up this page section If You want to...

Thanks for the discussion here. Closing this thread as Corinne has correctly redirected JohnnyV to the Help pages.
