Adding books to personal database help request

- Go to the page for the specific edition of whatever book you want to add to your shelf.
- Scroll down to Ratings & Reviews. It'll show you a picture of the edition that you already have shelved.
- Click the right arrow button on the screen. It'll show you a bit that says "Review this edition". Click the "write a review" button there.
- This will take you to the review page for the specific edition you're on and not the edition you've already read. There's a little section that says "Bookshelves/tags" and you can shelve the new edition from there.
It's a lot of steps to do something simple, but hopefully it helps.

I disagree. This specific information is VERY difficult to find when searching GR help. I know, because I hunted for MONTHS trying to find the same information. I finally learned how to do it when someone posted a tip in this group.
My sympathies are with the OP, and I thank the second poster for answering their question. Because this IS the Questions folder, and there's not enough clarity on what is and is not appropriate for this folder or this group. Certainly, newbies won't find enough guidance in the intro to this group. There's no clear, top-level statement that says "This group is for editing records on Goodreads." And that's a shame.

Edit : Drace, worked perfectly :)

Thanks for the discussion here. Closing this thread as Corinne has correctly redirected JohnnyV to the Help pages.

I have my books database were I add the books I own and those I read. So far all's OK... It happens however that I have more than one same book but in a different Edition. I don't seem to find how I can ADD this into my personal base. I can do 'Change Edition' but I want to insert and display BOTH (or more) in my list... So how do I do this ??? Hope I make sense and get a reply... Greetz all John...
