Wow, Ashley! You are simply amazing!! 10 points Gryfindor!!

Question: if I were to read The Violin Conspiracy and/or Starter Villain now, would we still get extra credit? I ordered them from the library & just got ‘em now. Lemme know, please!

That's silly, I highly disagree with that.
It will definitely be done before the next round, I will finish it tonight. I don't think the next round starts until the 2nd or 3rd You can just delete it. It will work for other things :)

The Cat Who Wasn't There
Lilian Jackson Braun
Finished 11/29/23
Page count: 238
Spellout letters:
A - CFN Arch
C - title
I - CFN Irma
N - CFN Nick
+ ALL those musical instruments that Ashley found!

Could someone please mark this as completed on our spreadsheet for me? Thank you,

I tend to agree with you. I think the rule was added after issues... but who knows...

As some one who reads 4ish non-fictions a month, I agree. I’ve suggested adding the subject of the book or the person who it’s about as spell it out options, but not enough people in the group read non-fiction for it to change.

Sorry this is a pet peeve of mine in challenges that do this

thank you for clarifying :)

But, rules is rules! We can't win 'em all!

This is it, the finale is upon us! Round 5 begins in 2 Days : 6 Hours : 20 Minutes!
Our last word is: TROMBONE, and our Cover Color is YELLOW.
The Bonus Info is as follows:
The instruments have been gathered, genres played, bands formed, and world tours commenced. Now it's time to read the stories, fact and fiction of the musicians.
Read books written by or about musicians. This could be non-fiction about a musician or band; or it could be fiction - in which case the main character(s) should be a professional musician (or aspiring). Someone who plays an instrument for personal pleasure only doesn't count.
Each book read will earn an additional 5 bonus points and a maximum of 10 bonuses.
Here are a few (at first glance) listopia lists for some inspiration:
Best Books about Musicians, Singers, and Bands
Best Books About Music/Musicians
Books about talented female musicians
Books About Music/Musicians

Do you have any more books you plan to add/read? Will you not finish something you have added?
We were way lower than last round in reading, I know being sick and having a holiday really messed me up and I am trying to dig in here at the end.

Hey Lauri! It looks like this book has "salsa" in it a bunch of times. One is in the beginning - ish and it says "salsa, Huh? Channel your inner Mark Anthony"
Unfortunately, Google Books is not giving me a page number. If you get a chance, could you scan your book for salsa for the extra points? :)
If you don't have the chance, no worries!!
And it looks like "There, There" has mariachi
"Mariachi music boomed through the room from the back yard."

"Folk music." I'm serious. He tilts his head to the side. "You're a fiddle player?"
again, no worries if you can't find it!

I'm kind of feeling like this needs to be found...
I looked up "Central Asia music" on our library app - and will see where it gets me :)
