I feel like I've read less books on the lists than ever (not surprising, I haven't really been picking up new releases)...

extremely glad they finally created a fantasy romance category (even if the word "romantasy" is godawful) so at least those books won't make the fantasy & romance categories completely useless anymore 🙃

I don't like the word romantasy but I am very glad it's separate! I do feel it's a different genre nowadays from fantasy, and it leaves romances for more contemp stuff that comes out

I'm actually terrible for new releases, I usually just wait until my library has them to read so I end up forgetting about them for ages lol

I won't be able to finish Iris Kelly Doesn't Date for this round :( as expected, work has been killing me the past couple of days and I won't take it on my trip as it's mega heavy (some dodgy doings by Amazon led to me not having the normal US paperback...)

I've got one of my most anticipated releases of the year ready to go on my Kindle, we'll see over the next couple of days if there's any chance I'll be able to finish it in time for this round... there's a reason I did my little readathon on the weekend 😅

I waited until booksandlala's live reaction besties live stream for the GR choice awards, and then fell asleep halfway through 🤦‍♀️ and only woke up about an hour later when my laptop ran out of battery 😅

I've read a total of 4 or 5 of the nominees so definitely not enough to justify voting haha.

We won't have any electricity the next two days and our flat is quite dark this time of year so I'm already panicking about how I'll be spending the next 48 hours. My powerbank is charged but my laptop will only work for maybe two hours lol. And I don't feel like going out since I've still got a bad cough and would rather stay in bed🙃

It's a mix of maintenance and repair work so I'll be glad if two days is all they need and won't add another day lol. And tbf it had to be done for over a year already, so it didn't come out of the blue at least. Our electrician just isn't the most reliable as he's juggling way too many things (in my opinion)...

I hope my brother will pick something up from McDonald's tonight, otherwise I'll have to go.

Ohh on a much brighter note though - I got picked for DQs for The Violin Conspiracy on Day 3 (Saturday - it starts tomorrow!) !!!

I'm hoping that it will pull me in so I'll finish the book before the round ends and it'll work towards our cover bonus (still got a couple more to go people!). Guess I'll keep ignoring Starter Villain for now hah.

Electricity is back wohoo!! (at least on my floor, not on the others yet but WHO CARES :D) - my brother got mcdonald's but I didn't though, boooooo! but at least I can make myself my much longed-for avocado toast now!

I started The Violin Conspiracy last night and am intrigued. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it before the round ends- we'll see. If anybody else got more musical instruments on covers though, throw them at us now; looks we only need 1-2 more :)

Hey Team!

I'm still hanging around. I'm still sick--mainly just a cough and some congestion now.-- but getting/feeling a lot better. I'm still resting as much as I can and still taking medicines,vitamins and drinking lots of tea/honey/lemon and other hot drinks!

I added a couple more books and I might have a couple more in the last 48 hours.

Otherwise I'll be waiting to see what we have in store for the next round.

I took at look at them and I'm highly disappointed that they took away some of the categories--Children's &MG, Manga/Graphics, .

Seems like Fantasy and its sub genres take over EVERYTHING!

I just kind of roll with the flow and read what I can since I depend on my library heavily and read what they have available. I will go ahead and see if anything on my TBR will work/available.

As far as doing the "in text" word searches.....ummmm I fail miserably at that. I'm learning to do it on my laptop using google books, but clueless on Kindle/Amazon since I don't read ebooks. I keep saying I'm going to start using my 500 kindles/tablets but haven't yet 🤣 I know Christina, you are still shaking your head that I have that many unused devices🤦‍♀

It was the holiday season here in India and I thought I'd have a lot of free time to catch up on my reading. But it turns out, I've never been busier planning festivities with my family.

Hopefully, I'll get more reading done in the next round!

At the top of both the home screen and the library view, there's the "search kindle" searchbar. You can put the word in there and hit enter to get past the list of books that have that word in the title. Then choose "text in books" and it'll give you a list of the books that have the word! (and once you click on the book, it'll lead you to the part of the book the word is, which is super convenient too)

The way the search literally says "search through library" and then just gives exclusively shop results if you've got nothing with the word in the title! so dumb!
