The novel for September 2023 is The Martian by Andy Weir. The book was published in 2011, after being released one chapter at a time on the authors website when he was unable to find a publisher.

It appeared at #61 on the Great American Read List, and has a goodreads rating of 4.40

Joyce Jarrard | 18 comments This is a great story, exciting and funny. There is a lot of profanity, but it makes it believable. I loved this book so much that I read his newer book, Project Hail Mary. I loved Project Hail Mary even more. I listened to that on audiobook, which was extremely well done.

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed this one. It's one I've really wanted to move to the top of my to-read list.
