I recently read a book and the only thing I remember is a vague description of the end. There was a girl I think she has magic. I think there’s a guy who also has magic and then a group of people with them. They travel to this magic location and the magic guy is intent on betraying everybody by planning these bomb like things into the soil of the magic place to either destroy the world and/or re-create it. The girl realizes he tricked her and then the girl ends up saving everyone. It seems like there’s mud cause I think somebody had mud up to their knees. I’m sorry for the lack of details. The book I think is in the YA genre.

I haven't actually read this yet, but could it be "The Darkest Minds"? I feel like I maybe remember a part similar to that in the movie of it that I saw years back.

It wasn’t the darkest minds series but I did find the book I had to go thru about 30 books of mine before I found it. It’s called The Drowned Woods by Emily Lloyd Jones
