Honestly, It didn't have much related to the plot according to me.
It was mostly about their personal lives and Natewyn etc etc.
Also it was really slow and according to the book they're supposed to be 17 and 18 but the way they were written made it seem as though they were 13-14 year olds.
But don't NOT read it based on my opinion.
Do order it. Who knows, it might turn out to be your favourite book.

Most of the book was about their personal lives and unrelated to the plot and the way they were written was 18 year olds but acted half their age.
It's the same with the cousins. I wanted a mystery book and trust me, I'm all for family -especially family drama.
But it BARELY had anything related to the plot. The first 200 pages were about how milly feels left out and the ending was plain.
I'm not even sure if there was a plot twist tbh.

personally, i LOVED it it's one of my all time favourite books very few books made me care about the charectors as much as this one did

It was overhyped and I think I was disappointed when it wasn't what it turned out to be.
And yes It wasn't fast which I disliked.
But I especially did not like the writing.
Being slow wasn't the only reason I rated it so low.

Finally someone who agrees w me oml
I didn't mean to cause a riot in the comments I just genuinely did not like it??

I mean I did guess a part of the ending in the first book but maybe that’s just me but overall I rlly LOVED it
Personally I loved the characters personal lives in it made it more interesting

It's not only the pacing, all the other factors you said add up to it.
(karne m mcmanus books are what put me in reading slumps)
