I remember vague details from some of the stories. One was set in a theatre where I believe they were putting on a Shakespeare play. They thought there was a ghost haunting the theatre but [SPOILER] the murderer was a custodian or a stagehand. He was a serial killer? Who was hiding out at this theatre. I believe he did something like break watches when he killed people but I could be mixing that up with something else.
There was also a story by the same author in the same collection that was about a young woman from England who was hired to nanny a girl whose sister or twin died? The story opens up with the protag accidentally turning the wrong way on a street because she lived in England.
These stories weren't that old, they seemed to be set in pretty modern times but I don't remember what technology was mentioned. I owned these books in paperback and they were pretty thick.
I think there was a romantic element to these stories in the collection and I believe I'm missing stories from the collection but these are what I remember. Please help!
