      She was in danger and the only way to protect her was for her to disappear. It was a horrible decision for any parent to have to make and it could have very well have saved her life. The justice system didn't. The couple she lived with were wonderful people, but Ellie is one smart girl and even though she knew she wasn't at fault for what happened, in her heart she felt she was. The separation changed the dynamics for the whole family.
    
        
      Perfectly worded, Anita! What a heartbreaking decision for all. I do believe it changed the course of her life and left her with some personal issues to work through later in life.
