Gruff and focused. He is very concerned about his colleague and Ellie was very young looking. It didn't take long for him to be told he was wrong. I admired how quickly he was able to pivot in the situation.

Max is all business and in charge. He didn't want anyone in the way. I did like how he thought he was protecting her from a gruesome scene only to learn that she is an accomplished trauma physician.

Yes, Max did come across as gruff in the situation, and he was definitely an "in charge" type of personality. The situation he faced was filled out by the details of the Landrys and their criminal activities. He was dealing with ruthless criminals and hoped to get them in custody for good, and Ellie's appearance was a first impression. I did like him. He was good at his job.

I liked Max right away. The gruff comment did not phase me because I already knew enough about Ellie to know that she was gonna plow right over him and do what she needed to do and then he would see her for what she was.

I loved Max! I need have to snicker under my breath at this scene though...knowing Ellie was about to set him straight!
