Thomas Hewlett (thomas_m_hewlett) | 25 comments I'm starting a series of blog posts wherein one of my characters - a vampire - reviews well known urban fantasy books from his...unique perspective. But I could use some help with recommendations! So far, he wrote the first one on Patricia Briggs's "Moon Called" (which he liked). I've got "Monster Hunters International" next (which he didn't). Of course I'll get to "Twilight". Then probably one of the Dresden books, something by Kim Harrison and then Ilona Andrews. Can anyone suggest some other "classic" titles?

Marianne Jeaniene Frost Vampire Huntress

M.A. Brotherton (mabrotherton) | 20 comments Fat Vampire (Fat Vampire, #1) by Johnny B. Truant by Johnny B. Truant. I just finished the series today and it was pretty fun.

Oleander | 18 comments The sookie series, black dagger brotherhood, Interview with a Vampire are classic titles/series. Of course there are many others to choose from.
Sound like a fun blog. Good luck

Lokki (lokki8) | 18 comments How about Vamped by David Sosnowski or Staked (Void City, #1) by J.F. Lewis ? Both 4 star reads for me.

Joseph (bluemanticore) | 138 comments I recommend Chloe Neill's Chicagoland Vampires series, starts with Some Girls Bite. Also Molly Harper's Jane Jameson series, starts with Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs.

What a great idea, to have a vampire review UF in a blog. PLEASE let us know where to find it once it's active, OK?

I'm sure you will find lots of contemporary "classic" UF to review, but maybe you could occasionally review some UF that is not close to PNR nor as lightweight as the books we see mentioned over and over again.

For instance, Anno Dracula
Practical Demonkeeping
Raising Stony Mayhall
Already Dead

Lokki (lokki8) | 18 comments I can't believe no one has suggested Bloodsucking Fiends A Love Story by Christopher Moore or the sequel You Suck (A Love Story, #2) by Christopher Moore yet

Louise | 8 comments I would suggest Sunglasses After Dark by Nancy Collins.

And one on my TBR pile is The President's Vampire by Christopher Farnsworth.

I heard about Frost but I haven't read her. I put "Halfway to the Grave" on the list!

"Interview.." definitely will be reviewed, as will something from the Sookie books. I didin't know about the Black Dagger series, but I think my Vamp will have some choice words about "Dark Lover"!

Great rec's! I know "Anno Dracula" though I haven't read it. And "Already Dead" was one of the inspirations for my series - I love the Joe Pitt books. (And if you're interested, the reviews will be at http://www.twelvestakes.com/blogs/new...)

I have to confess that I haven't read Moore yet...So these are going on the list. Thanks!

I don't think this sub-genre is readable for me, so I'll suggest you read something from the Necroscope series. Some good scene descriptions in those.

Thanks for the link, will be checking reviews with great interest.

Also, Christopher Moore was in my suggestions, but I prefer his NON-vampire books.
