Andrea | 20 comments I like series with a lot of books. Some I’ve read in the past: Hercule Poirot, Agatha Raisin, Jack Reacher, Stephanie Plum, Chief Inspector Gamache, Outlander…

MJ | 1617 comments Naked in Death, JD Robb. I struggled a little with book, one but was quickly hooked after that.

Andrea, are you looking for all types of genres and all ages of reader? Because your header is very general, so that's what we assume. If you're looking for something more specific than that, it needs to be in your topic header.

MJ | 1617 comments Guild Hunter series. The first 10 or so are great, wobbles a bit after that.

Psy/Changeling series. First Arc (15) are great. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

Captain Lacey series. HR detective.

3013: Erotic romance SciFi. It’s mainly ménage, and the first is fairly ott, but the world and characters are great.

Eric Bruce | 235 comments I would recommend The Women's Murder Club books by James Patterson , Rizzoli and Isles by Tess Gerritsen , Thomas Pitt and William Monk series ( 2 ) by Anne Perry , and Jonathan Kellerman's Alex Delaware novels . There must be about a hundred to read there .

Pony Xaviors (ponyxaviors) | 387 comments Perhaps you would like the author Michael Connelly. He has an entire universe of characters that interconnect, including an LAPD detective and a defense attorney. I haven't read them yet myself, but my sister has recently started some of them and has enjoyed them.

MJ | 1617 comments Yeah, Michael Connolly was good. His brother John Connolly too.

Pony Xaviors (ponyxaviors) | 387 comments More general suggestions:
Rick Riordan has a lot of connecting series as well, chronologically starting with The Lightning Thief.
Also, Sherrilyn Kenyon has some decently lengthed series that are also all connected to the same universe.
Same with John Flanagan.
You could also try The Bad Beginning if you haven't before, which is the first of a 13 book series.

Denis DeLong | 211 comments If you're not disinterested in tweens or YA, I myself am pretty much addicted to Andre Norton's ""Magic" series; some are considerably better than others, but I particularly enjoy rereading Octagon Magic and Lavender-Green Magic, and I'm pushing 70 years old.

message 18: by Donna (new)

Donna | 63 comments This is probably a no duh suggestion, but since you like Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot, then you'd probably like her Miss Marple series.

If you want to get into super long series, def dive into DC and/or Marvel comics or long running manga like Case Closed and One Piece. There's no end in sight!

I second the Rick Riordanverse 😄 it's a middle grade and YA series about the children of Greek/Roman/Egyptian/Norse gods.

The Boy Detectives Club by Edogawa Rampo is a childrens mystery series, although I don't think most of them have been translated into English yet. But they're mystery classics so you may be interested.

Jenn (cozyjenn) | 20 comments Grave Sight series

message 20: by Ryan (new)

Ryan (ryancan564) | 146 comments Remy Chandler series about an angel turned detective who solves supernatural cases, while dealing with living among humans. Lots of world-building on the mythos of angels and other deities.

Mitch Rapp focuses on a CIA agent who specializes against terrorist attacks. Long reads, but done very well in the thriller aspect.

Iron Druid Chronicles I haven't read this one yet, but it's an urban fantasy with plenty of books in the series.

Dear Dumb Diary is more middle-grade/YA but I found them to be very humorous, especially some of the hidden adult jokes spread around each book.

Cat In The Stacks is an ongoing series, if you like cozy murder mysteries with a librarian detective and his pet cat.
