Fits: #1 in series Read by Christene on 6/7 3 stars
Date read: 27/11/23
Rating: 3 stars
Review: Meh this one made me feel stupid and was too niche. I don't like things that fixate on one topic too much that clearly isn't mainstream. All the sciency stuff was annoying, Hannah is one of my most hated character archetypes (the non-dater) and she's also just so self-pitying it's frustrating. Ian is also one of the most boring males I've read. Unfortunate :(

Cross Her Heart - 11/28 - 4.5 stars! Well, I think I found a new favorite series. This was great. The suspense was realistic and raw. There was an underlying feeling of sadness throughout. I loved the interactions between the characters - very excited for the budding romance in future books.

Hi Maddie, I'm so sorry I didn't answer this sooner. Unfortunately, there's really nothing you can do once the next task has been announced. You can't make any changes to your selection, whether that be changing your book or taking a pass, which you couldn't do anyway since you'd already used the one for weeks 5-10 in week 6. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! 🙁

Yes, at least 50% and 100 pages, although in this case if you read 50% you'll be well over 100 pages so it's kind of a non-issue.

Glad you liked it, Breann! I really enjoy her books, and also Kendra Elliot, who has a similar style and they actually collaborate on some series (alternating books, not working together on the same book). Best of all, their entire backlists are available on KU, including free audio. 😃

Option 1

Rating: 3 Stars
Review: I enjoyed the setting and most of the plot and characters, but I really got tired of hearing how there was no chance the relationship between Toby and Reuben could work because Reuben was too old and too rich. Granted, differences in age and financial status can be real problems, but they also had other issues to deal with that (to me) seemed more difficult to overcome. It didn't make sense to me that less emphasis was put on things like them both having established, settled, and VERY different lives 3000 or so miles apart than on the age/wealth issues. Even with that issue kind of throwing me out of the story occasionally, overall I liked it. I listened to the audio version, well narrated by Iggy Toma.

OOoh! Ok! Added to my list :)

As of now we have just a few completions missing:
Week 8 - Maddie
Week 9 - Christene
Week 10 - Christene, Laks
If I've missed a completion somehow, please let me know!
I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner...intended to do it yesterday, but life happened! 😁

Week 11
Option 1
17. Per capita, Europe has the highest coffee drinking nations
Read a book set in Europe (mainland plus British Isles). British Isles includes UK and Ireland.
Option 2
Key date: 2 June 2023
If you use this option, this week you must select your book from the team shelves immediately below your team in this list. The last team picks from the first team.
9 Got a Latte to Read
1 Brew HaHa!
2 Caffeinated Chapter Chasers
3 Livin' La Vida Mocha
8 Lattes & Lovers
6 Bean There, Read That
7 Plots-a-Percolating
5 Patronum Espresso
10 Books & Brews
4 Brewed Awakening
Book from this teammate's shelf must have been read on or after this date, and rated at least 3 stars. Please note all three pieces of information on your post - teamie, date & rating.
Please make sure the teammate you select your book from is CURRENTLY still playing the game. Players' shelves who have left at not available for this option.
Option 3
Not available this week

For this last week, players who wish to use Option 2 will need to pick from a team that I posted with the final task. That is, if you select option 2 it cannot come from your own teammates' shelves, but from a different team's players' shelves that I will specify in the final task call.
Option 3 (Pass) is not available in the last week.
All posts from prior weeks must be completed to be in the running to win. (No outstanding completions from prior weeks.) AND all your selection and completion posts must include all the necessary information required in msg 3 of each team's thread. I will not be letting you know if you have missed an element or the page numbers don't match the edition that you have posted, etc.
Once you think your team has won, someone needs to post IN THIS THREAD, that they have completed the task.
I will then check the posts to ensure they are correct. If they are not (and require correction) another team can nip in and claim the win if their posts are correct.

Regarding making sure the posts are correct:
I am looking for the format in msg 3 of each team's thread. It must state the week #, whether it is a selection or completion post.
If it is a selection post it must also show the book link, total pages and how it qualifies. If it is a completion, then it needs the book link, rating and review

Option 1

Page count: - 132 pages
How book qualifies: From precis: ”Getting snowed in at a remote cottage in Wales with someone he’d fancied for ages isn’t exactly how Sam expected to spend Christmas.”

Qualifies - Set in Ireland - from precis: "With the legends and lore of Ireland running through his blood, falconer Connor O’Dwyer is proud to call County Mayo home"

Love You Senseless by Susan Mac Nicol

Pages: 164 pgs/GR
How it Qualifies: from the précis: One of London’s up-and-coming chefs, Eddie Tripp has just the right recipe

Option 1

Rating: 4 stars
Review: This was just a sweet, low angst stranded/friends to lovers Christmas story - not anything extra special, but a great way to spend a couple of de-stressing hours during all the hubbub of the holiday season. I listened to the audio version, well narrated by Matthew Lloyd Davies.

Option 1

EWB: Enemies With Benefits by N.R. Walker
Fits: From author's GR Page: N.R. Walker is an Australian author
Date Read: 11/27 3.5⭐
Review: This is definitely worth a read. It's very N.R. Walker, and if you've read plenty of her works before, you'll know what I mean. But still pretty solid enemies-to-lovers, at least at first. Marshall's hate was palpable and I appreciated that.
Despite some niggles here and there, this still gets a thumbs up from me. Can't wait for the next Walker romance!

Option 2

Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews
Fits: Read by ~KarenH~ on 6/30/2018 with 3 stars
Date Read: 11/29 4⭐
Review: Magic Bites is a good starter for a series. Good plot, a bit confusing at first probably because there's a lot of characters that was introduce but a good world building. A post apocalyptic where technology and magic is everywhere. Kate Daniel, our badass mc investigate the murder of her mentor and then she discovered that not only human were killed but also wolves and vampires. This series is promising. Looking forward to the next book!

Option 1

Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas

Grumpy Bear by Slade James
Pages: 296 pgs/GR
Read: Nov-26
Rating: 4 stars
This just felt real and natural, like two men recounting how they really met and fell in love. I loved every second of it. Even with the background of the nudist campground, it wasn’t over the top and just flowed so sweetly.
