One needs breaks from those doorstoppers. Between and during.

However, as suggested by this promotion posted on Facebook by the St. Thomas Public LIbrary, you are also reading a 'Ken' book to support the 'Kens' of the world!

Grab a book written by a Ken and show the Kens of the world that they are Kenough! 💗

That's too funny!! I had no idea I was a stealth Ken supporter!

Also, JoAnne & Anita, in conjunction with this roll, I am using a tag-related benefit to move forward 5 spaces, putting me on space 91."

Clearly Joy was tired of her shabby uniform and decided to hustle into Royal Coach! I trust the Wardrobe Attendant met you at the door with tape measure in hand! I understand some lovely loungewear has been added to the wardrobe for those whose clothes are being freshened or replaced for the next board.

Train management has worked hard to upgrade to suit each Subdue Challenge Participants needs.

Theresa | 15510 comments Hmmmm - Sue, JoAnne, Amy, and BooknBlues all hanging in Second Class Lounge? No wonder there are mutters about the noise laughter and clink of crystal constantly emanating from there. And despite CGI Tom's efforts to hide it from me -- foolish CGI man -- I've been questioning the serious increases to food and beverage inventory for the Second Class Lounge recently.

I'm surprised ANY reading is getting done!

Officially I'm in the Locomotive! But I have to read 99 because I accidentally read 100 earlier this year, forgetting it was on my list!

Gnarly is probably pretty happy with the Meowy Wowwy!

Ah, they are available. In fact, here's the link - as you arrive in Royal Coach, just pick your size, style and color choice and let the Wardrobe Attendant know - direct access to the inventory.

No budget. CGI Tom has been coerced persuaded to pick up the tab.

You may think so, but CGI Tom knows the truth. All the boys and staff know who keeps this train humming along full of fun, frivolity, and flexing opportunities (for Cabbana Boys and Firefighters, though I spotted the Royal Coach Butler, in his Thunder Mountain Mickey Mouse hat, joining them at one point.)

CGI Tom has also been coerced - persuaded - to provide, at his expense, to all car occupants requesting in Baggage Car and First Class, these superior Bose noise canceling headsets. You can have noise cancelling and audio at same time.

I did hear Tom muttering under his breath that he's going to need to start charging these increasing expense back to a certain sassy Subdue reader. I merely suggested he clear everything with Train Management before undertaking any tasks or following instructions from anyone but Train Management.

Link to online shop for those silk lounging pjs in Comment 79. I keep visiting it and thinking I need a pair. I just know they will make me look just like the models!

Surely you know, Amy? There is only one reader who 'stirs things up' regularly causing Train Management to have to step in and read the riot act to Cabana Boys and CGI Tom.

Come to think of it, I have a pair of silk pjs that might fit me now. I’ll have to go hunting for them. There are a lot of hiding spots in this house.

Tom's been given a strict workout schedule in the Caboose gym since he insists on struttin' through the train in his silken loungers with the top unbuttoned. He's needs to tone up!

Theresa | 15510 comments @Anita and @JoAnne - just confirming as I am not used to getting any specials with my rolls - guess the Under the Sea silk pjs bribe gift had some influence on Ursula -

My last roll was a 6. This is a 1. 6+1=7 which means I move 7 spaces and either read that book or the one before or the one after, but stay where I landed.

If that is correct, I will move and note on my board which book I read.

That’s correct. I like this one. You don’t advance any faster, but I like having 3 choices.

Joanne (joabroda1) | 12568 comments Theresa, sent a message to Anita to respond-I have mixed thoughts on how this should be handled with one dice rolls.

message 97: by Joy D (last edited Sep 09, 2023 04:46PM) (new)

Joy D | 10073 comments If it makes any difference, I've done it before, using two consecutive rolls adding up to 7. (Link to post where I announced it on our thread back in August: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...)

Based on this rule, which governs any Board beyond Clerk:
5. You will still be eligible for special rolls, however a special roll will be designated by two adjacent rolls of the die. For example, if your first roll in round two is a 6 and your second roll in round two is a 4, then you will be eligible for the 6-4 special roll and the surprise advantage that goes with that.

message 98: by Theresa (last edited Sep 09, 2023 07:09PM) (new)

Theresa | 15510 comments Thanks all, I really appreciate your responding. I can wait for Anita, Grand Poobah and CEO of Subdue Train Management, to give the final ruling. I have 3 other books partially read for challenges to finish and a Feminerdy Book Club to start. I suspect Anita's second job, which ends tomorrow, is draining every last drop from her before allowing in the blacksmith, which CGI Tom at my request hired to be on call to cut the shackles connecting her to that job's keyboard.

message 99: by Robin P (new)

Robin P | 5735 comments I've been doing this all through the Engineer Board, just noting it on my tracking. If I got a 4, then a 3 or a 5, then a 2, etc. I chose whether I preferred the book I landed on, the one before, or the one after. But as stated, you don't move your position. I think one time I read the book before, then rolled a 1 so I ended up on the original book anyway.

message 100: by Robin P (new)

Robin P | 5735 comments I am ready for my next roll. (1)
I hope to be getting off this board with it. I have a new board prepared for my Engineer Round 2.
