Sonali Singh | 1 comments Hi guys i have been really confused about this as previously i have published two books on my pen name. And now i feel like i should write my real name?
What would you suggest?

Will it affect me ?

Regina Sage | 10 comments Personally, I write fiction under a pen name and my job-related nonfic under my birth name. The fiction is a fun project to keep me happy and I honestly don't care if it goes anywhere. The other involves my academic/'day job' reputation and I hold it to a higher standard. While I prefer to work with adults exclusively for many reasons, I do still wind up teaching minors through college educational systems, community theatres and the local high school. Since the grooming thing is exploding across the US, I figured it was better to publish the fun spicy writing under a pen name. The risk of tanking my position in an unstable local niche, was too high for me to do otherwise. Never do I want a client or a client's parent to feel uncomfortable working with me because I decided to publish some romance.
As for whether or not it will impact you, specifically, that is a determination you will have to make. Are you trying to make writing your full-time gig, or keep your writing as a side job? Would those you work with or for be at risk due to anything you publish? Would you or your family be in danger if you were connected to any particular content? Ideally, no one should be hurt by anything we write, but the world is a really dangerous place for many still, and the rise of censorship and related hate-crimes was a factor in my own decision.
