SOLVED. Set in New Zealand cheating wife [s]

I don't remember the name or the author just the plot. It's set in New Zealand in a coal mining town and I think during a really big Union strike. The book starts off with a woman interviewing her grandmother about her past. The grandmother narrates the story of her cheating on her husband . She ends up getting pregnant by the other man, but her husband raises the baby as their own. Later she finds out that her father isn't her real father because her mother also cheated on her real dad . Or something. Someone pleaaase help me find this boook :)

I read it in 2009. It wasn't part of a series. Took place in 1920s or 30s. Pretty sure it was published within the last ten years though. The cover was black and white that's all I know :(

As a Kiwi I know that the town of Denniston was one of the largest coal mining towns in NZ. There are numerous books surrounding this town including Denniston Rose by Jenny Pattrick and it's sequel.
