Taylor | 149 comments I read this book prior to 2006, and it was a thick illustrated children’s book that contained several different stories. I believe most of the stories were based on legends or folktales. There was definitely at least one where a knight (I think St. George) slays a dragon to rescue a princess. There was also one where a little girl travels across the night sky as part of a quest, and I believe there was another short story where a little girl in a village had a magical watering can. There were illustrations on almost every page, but I still remember it being fairly word-heavy.

Taylor | 149 comments Coming back to this because I remember more details about the little girl that lived in a village. It wasn’t a magical watering can— she had a ladle. I think a relative of hers was sick, and she would collect water with the ladle. Something happens and the ladle turns into the Big Dipper in the night sky.

Taylor | 149 comments Coming back to mark this as solved, as I spoke with a relative recently and determined that this was The Children's Book of Virtues.
