The boy may not have been a real boy. It was similar to Borrowed Children.

Is this a child's novel?Do you remember why the boy could only stay for a year and a day?
If he wasn't a real boy, was he a ghost? An alien? Something else?
I remember he was real and he may have died. or he went into the woods and they never found him. I read this between 1999 to 2002
I don't think he had a belly button. He nay not have been real.
I read it when I was in the 6th or 7th grade
his name may have been Adam. it was the two sisters that found him in the woods
