Looking for romance books with a hero who messes up and the heroine seemingly loses feelings for him

As the title states, I am looking for romance book recommendations where the guy does something that hurts the heroine so much that she stops dealing with him, becomes numb, avoids him, moves on......but they eventually end up together. The angstier the better!
