Smack Dab in the Middle of Maybe by Jo Watson Hackl is a lovely adventure book. I like the cover, the characters, and the plot. It's been on my TBR list for so long that I read this month.

I loved the main character here because she was brave and determined to find her mother. At the end of the story, I really liked how it ends though it's a little sad. She is trying to find her mom and also the secret room which is the start of her adventure.

All her life, Cricket's mama has told her stories about a secret room painted by a mysterious artist. Now Mama's run off, and Cricket thinks the room might be the answer to getting her to come back. If it exists. And if she can find it.
