Carmen | 8125 comments It was a reread for me so no surprises about the story, what surprised me, in a very, very positive way, was that I listened to the Spanish audiobook edition narrated by Javier Gutiérrez and it gave the book another 5 stars if possible. What a magnificient job!
It was amazing!

Beth | 1553 comments This just didn’t do anything for me. I can appreciate the world building and the craftsmanship in the writing and all. I wanted to love it! High fantasy isn’t my genre.

John Marshall (uberman5000) | 25 comments I last read this back in junior high, and was pleased to revisit it.

Four stars

Megan (sporadic hiatus due to law school) (excessivenarwhal) | 172 comments This was much funnier than I remember it being. Glad that I reread it, but it doesn't have the flow or pacing of a book that could be a yearly reread. Still, it was very good, and I am glad to have had an excuse to revisit it.

Ashleigh Motbey (ashybear02) | 1686 comments This was just an okay read for me. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. I gave it 3.5/5.

GailW (abbygg) | 1114 comments After years of telling myself this book was not for me - it was meant for kids (it was likely meant for boys), I finally, in my [mumbles number] year, listened to this on audio. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think I would have struggled a bit with it in print, but the narrator, Rob Inglis, made this all work for me. I gave it a 4.
