Sonja (sonjac) | 1368 comments Okaaaay, so today did NOT go as planned (that will be the engraving on my tombstone in case you're wondering) and I'm still finishing MY picks, so Mo and Jae have a little grace period still - say 11pm PT tonight?

Would anyone be able to do repicks tomorrow, in case we need them? Thank you!

Courtney K (cklueh) | 512 comments Picks for Sonja

1. A MC who is a mom- Forever Amber TBR I'm so curious about what kind of mom this character is going to be, it sounds juicy.

2. Someone in the story enjoys eating dessert- A Study in Scarlet Women NEWish. To be honest, I can't tell if you read this. It came up when I searched for it, but didn't have a rating and I don't know how to tell which shelf it's on at that point. The term "maximum tolerable chins" will come up in this series.
OR
If you read that one, I'm reading An Earl to Remember and the MC is a chef. I was trying not to repeat from my other picks. This is OVERBOARD (movie) re-telling, though, and I want everyone to read it.

3. A book with "and" in the title- Hook, Line, and Sinker TBR

4. Tagged Paranormal- Don't Hex and Drive TBR
OR
Tech-savvy character- In the Lives of Puppets NEW Pinnochio re-telling with cyborgs and queer romantic sub-plot.

5. Colorful Cover- The Man Ban TBR

6. Tagged historical- How to Marry an Earl NEW

7. Tagged humor- Beaches, Bungalows & Burglaries It's giving Schitt's Creek vibes. TBR
OR
A cartoonish cover with a ridiculous title (it is a manga)- Hi, I'm a Witch, and My Crush Wants Me to Make a Love Potion Manga, Vol. 1 NEW I was tearing up laughing at one point.

8. Published within the last year- Partners in Crime NEW

Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor A Study in Scarlet Women (Lady Sherlock, #1) by Sherry Thomas An Earl to Remember (Unforgettable Love #2) by Stacy Reid Hook, Line, and Sinker (Bellinger Sisters, #2) by Tessa Bailey Don't Hex and Drive (Stay a Spell, #2) by Juliette Cross In the Lives of Puppets by T.J. Klune The Man Ban (Late Expectations) by Nicola Marsh How to Marry an Earl (A Cinderella Society, #1) by Alyxandra Harvey Beaches, Bungalows & Burglaries (Camper & Criminals, #1) by Tonya Kappes Hi, I'm a Witch, and My Crush Wants Me to Make a Love Potion Manga, Vol. 1 by Kamada Partners in Crime by Alisha Rai

SunnyCAGirl | 90 comments I read “Love Theoretically”and really liked it. Now, starting on The Diamond Eye. Thanks, Cóurtney!

message 65: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) | 512 comments I read Digging Up Love from a debut author. It has a lot of good topics. For instance the MC has grown up with her white grandparents in a small town. The hero comes from a blue collar family and they don't understand his academics lifestyle. Although this did focus on the development of their relationship, it also focused a lot on their individual lives and challenges. As a result, it was a tad longer than I prefer. I hope in the future, we get some steamy scenes from this author. Thanks for the pick, Sonja!
