He recently discovered a new favourite song: Take me home, country roads by John Denver and when I told him it's Country music, he remembered about the AI song he created and how you asked for a Country version. ☺️

😂

That's a great song! I grew up with John Denver (my mum's a big fan), so his songs will always be special to me. love that Domi is enjoying it too! 😁

oh and I almost forgot... he asks some further recs from you.

lemme update my books (may be a little while, lol) and I'll make a list for him. 😁

Other songs by John Denver:
- Thank God I'm A Country Boy
- Annie's Song
Timeless classics:
- Delta Dawn by Tanya Tucker
- Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash
- Hey Porter by Johnny Cash
- Forever And Ever, Amen by Randy Travis
- Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks
- Don't Rock The Jukebox by Alan Jackson
- Chasin' That Neon Rainbow by Alan Jackson
- Guitars, Cadillacs by Dwight Yoakam
- Good Ol' Boys by Waylon Jennings
- Hey Good Lookin' by Hank Williams
- Lovesick Blues by Hank Williams
- Me And Bobby McGee by Kris Kristofferson or Kenny Rogers (my favourite version)
- On the Road again by Willy Nelson
- The Highwayman by The Highwaymen
- Boot Scootin' Boogie by Brooks & Dunn
Newer songs:
- Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker (other people have sung this, but I like his version best!)
- Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton
- Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band
- Sweet Annie by Zac Brown Band
- Love Story by Taylor Swift
- Elvira by Home Free ft. The Oak Ridge Boys (in fact, I recommend just having lots of fun going down the Home Free rabbit hole. absolutely recommend watching the music videos over just listening to their songs!)
Parental discretion:
- Jolene by Dolly Parton (hints at infidelity)
- The Gambler by Kenny Rogers (gambling theme and death, yet also big on life lessons)
- Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford or Johnny Cash (contains mention of fighting)
- El Paso by Marty Robbins or Marty Stuart (about an outlaw who gets shot)
- A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash (my favourite song as a kid, but contains fighting, parental abandonment and if you get the uncensored version a swearword at the end. Brilliant song though, and I'd recommend you checking it out first if you have concerns!)
- Convoy by C.W. McCall (theme of bucking authority and some slight language - words like "ass" for example, nothing really off-colour)
- Seven Spanish Angels by Willy Nelson and Ray Charles (sad but really beautiful song)
- Mama Tried by Merle Haggard (a cautionary tale about what happens when you don't listen to your mother! 😆)
I could go on and on and on and on! lol. One thing to note: If you're watching the music videos rather than listening to the songs, a lot of them don't go straight into the song but have a lot of talking and whatnot beforehand. the song is coming but it may take a while, lol!

We'll have a pick of some songs to listen to tomorrow. 😊

- Amanda by Waylon Jennings or Chris Stapleton (I adore both versions)

I admit I only know Chris Stapleton b/c of his duet with Justin Timberlake. 🤭 Love the song Sayin' Something.
Home free rabbit hole definitely one worth exploring. Tennessee whiskey is high on my list too.
I tend to end up the more pop/modern end of country. My memory for parental warnings is not as good as Sammy’s so you might want to check mine first!
Die a Happy Man - Thomas Rhett
I run to you - Lady A
Written in the Sand - Old Dominion

He is just incredible, and always better live! (didn't list this song because I think it may be a difficult one for kids, being about mental illness and all, but you know Domi and whether you think it would be ok for him. 😊

With Domi's current level of English, no strict lyrics controls are necessary, though the other day I refused to translate some Eminem lyrics for him, lol.
One of my friends walked down the aisle to one of his songs. Annoyingly I can’t remember which one. On a related note, apparently country music is a big thing in the Falklands!

Hey, all the best people do that... 😂

tears of laughter! 😂
Can't add much to the country music chat, beyond noting that Alison Krauss is excellent, and I loved her first album with Robert Plant.
