just finished one with "not wanting to skewer the decomposing body" on page 221 (so I don't have to look it up again if we decide to use it, lol)

Just in case you come across sth that may work. :)

I did a reshuffle of books, and finished off a set.
spun us
John Lynch (Australia)
1 200 to 299
2 Takes place in Australia
3 "axe" in text
4 Letters in WOMBAT in title
5 Tagged farm or farming at least 3 times

Sod's law.
I am re-reading Lord of the Rings this week though, as I'm about to hit my turf cap and we still have a few days to go. So I have axe covered at least 😆

I've just finished a 500-pager that I can drop in there if you've still got a decent way to go (so we'll have plenty of chance to spin more 500+ 😆)
If you're nearly done, we'll leave yours where it is.
Also, is it any good?

H. H. Holmes (Chicago)
1 500 to 650
2 Takes place in a state on the Great Lakes (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin)
3 author first and last initial is the same
4 character goes to fair, amusement park, carnival, etc
5 MC moved/moves to a new city/town
so have moved your book to that slot! 😁
So, tasks looking for books are:
title contains the word "FIRE"
A cat is important to the plot
Takes place in Australia
Letters in WOMBAT in title
Takes place in a state on the Great Lakes (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin)
author first and last initial is the same
character goes to fair, amusement park, carnival, etc
I put this there for easy reference and a mental nudge to myself, though I don't currently have any planned that will fit...

Work is crazy this week and the peaking the next, so I'm much slower than anticipated.

I had a James Baldwin (The Fire Next Time) but not feeling it right now. Though it's not unreasonable turf points (106 pages) so not ruling it out!
and possibly a cat one, going by the cover
, but that'll be a week at the earliest, I'd think

😅
generally feeling boo hiss about that Australia location too. :(
and sad that my current has an invisible M in the title (The Shadow Cabinet would be vastly improved if it smuggled an M in there somewhere, amirite?!)

just finished Witch Queens, Voodoo Spirits, and Hoodoo Saints: A Guide to Magical New Orleans, and not a B to be found. Rude.

But it can be kicked out, no hard feelings. :))

I doubt there will be any kicking. that was a tricky one!
Oh, I also need something with all the letters in JUPITER in the title OR series title for another challenge, and am having some trouble. So if anyone knows of something that will fit, please holler!

Do you still want me to list them?

Music in the Castle of Heaven: A Portrait of Johann Sebastian Bach
American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer
plus the 300+
The Myth of the Andalusian Paradise: Muslims, Christians, and Jews under Islamic Rule in Medieval Spain
how about: The Undoing Project: A Friendship That Changed Our Minds (actually interesting)
The Ghost Pirate's Treasure: Mystery of the Jaguar Warrior (I suspect was pressed into service for an NBRC task)
This Book Will Change Your Mind About Mental Health: A Journey into the Heartland of Psychiatry (also good, but not uplifting reading!)
Taxtopia: How I Discovered the Injustices, Scams and Guilty Secrets of the Tax Evasion Game (Infuriating)
The Stopping Places: A Journey Through Gypsy Britain (I enjoyed this one)
The Red Prince: The Life of John of Gaunt, the Duke of Lancaster
The Reason I Jump: the Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism
Playing for Freedom: The Journey of a Young Afghan Girl
The Patient Assassin: A True Tale of Massacre, Revenge and the Raj
The Kaiju Preservation Society (Scalzi!)
His Bloody Project: Documents Relating to the Case of Roderick Macrae (apparently 5 stars...)
Ghosts of the Tsunami: Death and Life in Japan's Disaster Zone (v good)
The Five: The Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper (excellent)
Djinn Patrol on the Purple Line
The Black Jacobins: Toussaint L'Ouverture and the San Domingo Revolution
(shame you can't do it across both title & series: Ancillary Justice would work then)

I updated with more :)
apart from the ghost jaguar pirate treasure warrior (missing only the kitchen sink, I think!), I think they were all of merit, though some will be skewed by mood too :)

good turf count too.
I will use that one if I can't find any of these I haven't read yet on audible/library.
(I have the Scalzi too. No idea how the heck I missed that one!)

The JS Bach might be a while though... they only have 1 copy and it is apparently about 2 years overdue right now! 😆

1 200 to 299
2 Takes place in India
3 plot involves "deceitful and organised robbery and/or murder"
4 set in 1700 or 1800s
5 numbers in 931 in publishing date and/or page number

Also, why couldn't we get the india task during the turf India round? Murphy and that darned law of his!

There's a free audible original version that stars Stephen Fry as Lady Bracknell.
