Love that video of DT! Looks like he did a fab job of hosting.

I've got a few things on the go currently so I'm not going to reserve any of the tasks for a minute so that I don't slow everything down!

Dominomaj | 42 comments I am attending classes on AI. I just learned how to create songs. I will create a song about our team. 😊

Dominomaj | 42 comments Here are the lyrics.

Monster Hunters' Anthem

**Monster Hunters' Anthem**

(Verse 1)
Through the dark and misty night,
Monsters rise, a fearsome sight.
But we stand, so brave, so bold,
Armed with books, both new and old.

(Chorus)
Pages turn, the shadows break,
Words of wisdom, spells awake!
No sharp blades, no heavy steel,
Knowledge strikesβ€”the beasts must kneel.

(Verse 2)
Ancient texts and secret lore,
Seal the beasts forevermore.
Every line, a binding chain,
Monsters fall, they scream in vain.

(Chorus)
Pages turn, the shadows break,
Words of wisdom, spells awake!
No sharp blades, no heavy steel,
Knowledge strikesβ€”the beasts must kneel.

(Verse 3)
In the library’s sacred halls,
Magic echoes through the walls.
Scrolls of power, words untamed,
Legends write the monsters’ fate.

(Bridge)
Fear no darkness, fear no fight,
Books will bring eternal light!

(Chorus)
Pages turn, the shadows break,
Words of wisdom, spells awake!
No sharp blades, no heavy steel,
Knowledge strikesβ€”the beasts must kneel!

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments I've grabbed both the chunky ones and 'Author initials (all) in DELETE' (because reading a Dennis E. Taylor in a couple of days, which couldn't be any more perfect.)

Don't have any lightning to hand, but if no-one has found any by the time I get through those 3, I'll go see what audible+ has for me πŸ˜‰

Melindam | 8375 comments I have "negative" in text for an upcoming read, and currently listening to The Siege A Six-Day Hostage Crisis and the Daring Special-Forces Operation That Shocked the World by Ben Macintyre which should finish off Lords Winder & Snapcase.

Need to pick up Emily Wilde 2 for the BOM, but unfortunately it doesn't work for any of the pending tasks (of course ;) .

And Fellowship will work for dwarf, just need to get there.

Then it depends on the April Mini. ...

message 3434: by Melindam (last edited Apr 13, 2025 12:55PM) (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments The following tasks are currently unclaimed:

- Takes place in Korea, Japan, or Taiwan
- A painting or photo on cover
- Authors initials in WORSHIP

Melindam | 8375 comments BTW, the Discworld wheel went a bit barmy and didn't want to stop spinning.

Either it was our wonky connection or it had its own struggles with Bel-Shamharoth. 😁

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments πŸ˜†

Japan would normally be an easy one for me, but all my outstanding TBR are print, and I have too many of those lined up already right now. Once we're in May, I have more options.

The series one could be a yes from me, depending in UNO mini tasks!

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments Thanks for that! Being bilingual, I've always appreciated how much goes into translating a text. Just translating the words can often miss the mark so wildly!

message 3448: by Melindam (last edited Apr 16, 2025 05:46PM) (new)

Melindam | 8375 comments I have never much liked the band or this particular song, but it's something quite a lot of Hungarians could refer to, although I have my doubts about the younger generations. 😊

message 3449: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13020 comments Well, I guess that is in line with the english version then, because I doubt many people under 30 (or more likely, 40...) will have a clue who you're on about if you mention Dean Martin πŸ˜†

Melindam | 8375 comments I have been considering for a while, not to fully quit amazon, but trying to cut back on buying kindle books and switch to some other ebook provider.

And I checked kobo ebook prices for my wishlist and found that 90% of those books are much cheaper there. So I registered and just went on an Easter spree.
