Of course, if it's more like an infection, we could all end up with it at the same time, in which case we're doomed
π
It'll be like this until a TT situation when it will switch to under 200 pages.
Not sure how we can tell between hot potato and infection. If hot potato maybe we switch back to Cat.

Naturally.

Also, if we swap Domi's 'A Rideg Valo' with Cat's 'Devil's Breath', we can dispose of Danny Zuko!
nope! bad move! I'm still infected

Luckily I have a 599 on the go π

Does anyone else do this to themselves:
Keep reading books by an author, even though they never or rarely go above an "ok" rating.
I have so many 3 star authors that I still keep picking up regardless. Sarah Waters is one of those, though I don't think this one is going to make it as high as 3 stars!

Who's that Sammy? Sarah Waters? I find her hard going, and have permitted myself never to read another!
ETA I actually liked The Paying Guests the most of the three I've read, mainly because it's set in my manor, so I could pretty much visit the house location and also see the changes in the environs

I like the idea of her as an author a lot more than the actual books π

And still, I see an Atwood book, I buy it. WHY!?

is there a love triangle in Lessons in Chemistry? It works for the page count.
Hubby just brought it to me form the library.
Originally I wasn't planning on reading it, but your review & the fact that it's been translated and available in my local library tipped the balance. π

But it was a very enjoyable read regardless!

I don't mind about the absence of a triangle, just asked b/c of the task. π

hmmmmmm.... I don't hate it.... what do others think?

ETA and might have a scientific "family" tree in there too!
It'll be a day or two mind

I've been planning on re-reading it as the only book by TJR I really liked so far. (she may be my Sarah Waters, Sammy π )
I want to try the dramatised, full-cast version, so waiting for my next Audible credit to drop.

But looks to me like Sophie has that one well in hand!
Also Cat, did you infect Mel with the spinning curse, or just hand it off to her? If the latter, it'll be safe for you again. We could be dealing with a "hot potato" kind of spinning situation where one of us is "it" and should avoid the wheel?
